Hi guys, more help needed. Got a TD5 auto. On start up it pulls away really slowly for about 10 secs. Pedal only half way down, then all of a sudden it sparks into life.

I know it doesn't sound too long but when you have just pulled into traffic life gets a bit hairy. Its not just early morning either.

Just had oil changed(was happening before).

Cheers for any help.

the TD5 turbo dosent really kick in until you hit about 1800 revs, they are pretty gutless lumps without the turbo.

there is also a good chance that your MAF is dirty and fooling the engine management computer into delivering LESS fuel.

Up unitl recently it would go when I fooking told it too:D!
But I will look at MAF tomorrow.
cheers

UPDATE! Watched the rev counter and speedo whilst pulling off.
Pedal down about 3/4 of the way, revs rise to 2000 but speedo doesn't go above 10mph. This prob. takes about 5-8 secs then kicks in.
This is a fairly recent habit hence the confusion.

Cheers

Hi guys. Sorry to kick this off again, but although this problem has got less frequent it is still there. I have recently spoke to a guy who thinks it might be linked to the limp mode on the auto box. He reckons this has kicked in due to the aircon drain holes affecting the xyz switch.

First off I have just removed both drain hole plugs and found both to be gunged up but no water.

Can someone give me an idiot guide(pref. with piccies:D) as to where I can find the xyz switch. I am thinking of removing and WD40ing the sucker just in case.

Just a thought - but could the problem be linked with the weather?

many thanks

Rob
