Plod don't have unmarked vehicles with tints, not allowed, plus your Volvo driver would be a class one driver. Plus remember plod cars have black boxes fitted, and they are accountable....... So if the wheels did come off, so to speak he could be in front of the beak gripping the bar..... Job losing stuff.

They have black boxes fitted now? does that mean they can't do 100mph with the blues flashing on the way to Tesco's any more?
In my experience (I have a clean licence) plod traffic patrols think they are god and can get away with anything. I have had the pleasure of dissabusing a few of that notion:eek:

I love how sometimes the pack can turn on a newbie! he he he !

something tells me he wont be make statements like that here in a while!

i think long story short lads most cops are a law on to themselves and we think there cocks (and mast normally are cocks especially the traffic ones!) but there is the tiny tiniest bit inside all of us deep down inside that would want to be a copper if only for a day and annoy the people you dont like??? he he he!

i agree about the plod being a ****ing pain 99% of the time ,last weekend i was hauling some machinery to do a job . week before the dads army radar nobs had zapped me and took me reg (was doing about 35 in a 30 ) anyway this weekend they were at the other end of the same village (with plod in attendance .came around the corner just short of the 30 signs and was only doing about 35 with all the gear in the ifor will trailer , so throttled off and easily dropped to 30 in time .as i went by um the plods were rubber necking all over the landy and trailer they even stepped out in the road after i passed um to check i had the correct reg plate on it

On the other hand, how hard is it to do 30 instead of about 35?

Unless otherwise signed streetlights mean 30mph

To paraphrase: hit them at about 35 and there's an 80% chance they'll die. Hit them at 30 and there's an 80% chance they'll live.

got no problem with keeping to the limits , mostly i do but what i'm saying is its a waste of plod time !!
we all without realizing it occasionily drift above the limit how can you watch the speedo constantly without missing a the rug rat chasing a ball into the road

It would also aid the cause considerably if pedestrians did not walk in front of vehicles. They do not have right of way crossing a road. The vehicle has right of way. Pedestrians must cross "ONLY WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO" Highway code.

yu try saying that to the mother of a 13 yr old girl. we have had 3 die like that in the last 5 moths.

yep, that's all fair comment, and I don't disagree.
but I'd be happy to have the inconvenience of incurring occasional scrutiny of zealous policemen if it changes the minds of a few of the '45 everywhere' brigade.

its not only about the risk of injury & death - excessive speed I think has a significant impact on quality of life in towns & villages in terms of noise & anxiety caused. I feel sorry for people who live 30mph roads with cars & commercials whacking past at 50+ all day & night.

well that's me categorized now then :)

they need to keep people out of the road like the yanks do then put the speed limit up :D

Old bill need to ask for permission to turn their blues and twos on
this is also not the gif i meant

I agree. Here in France the limit in towns and villages is fairly rigerously enforced. On the spot fines and if you are 50Km per hour over the limit, lose your car:eek:

You would be very surprised how many wanted scumbags get caught by just traffic stops , and how much stolen property & drugs are found, not to mention the drivers without licences and or no insurance.!.
As far as the black box gadget in traffic cars they have video recorders in the cabin recording everything, including general conversations.......
So if the officer did deck up the supervisor down loads the data, replays the video....... Like I said , job losing stuff, but we all need then when some **** breaks into your house or car !

Where I used to live, they could get 6 units to a minor RTA in minutes, report a burglary in progress and one might turn up 2 days later to try to persuade you not to insist on it being recorded.
