Few piccys sump being cleaned of gunk and wax oil which has protected it like new no rust which is unusual for a 300 sump
that's all for now block is away being rebored and head has been sent for pressure test and re face if it tests ok then will lap valves and change stem seals engine had over heated so badly that it only had compression on 1 cylinder so not holding much hope of salvaging the head but they are known for being pretty resilient
Update block back and I've fitted new Pistons ,bearings and core plugs and of coarse the obligatory coat of paint [emoji106]all ally parts have been cleaned then etch primed ready for a coat of silver few piccys more as and when I do more
I don't follow many rebuild threads really. But this one for some reason I have. And I'm so glad I have done!
Keep up the good work GATSO. Very impressed and hope to eventually do similar myself one day

I rebuilt an lt77 last year and found it much easier than I thought it would be having never had a gearbox that far in bits before.
Not an r380 I know, but doubt they're that different. Although I do fancy having a bash at a r380 at some point too.
Brilliant work mate, what paint are you using in the engine? Hopefully going to be doing something like this with mine. Also is the engine on a stand or just on a work bench?
