oh i do not know of that faultcode list was realy used for p38. I get it as a bmw list. It has more codes then the shorter p38 list. No list is giving faultcode 33. I have a special car... Only my (Original latest) p38 is giving it. haha

ok i spend some time on. I check all systems. Al seem to be ok. No further error message, except faultcode 33 comes in after reset. I check the EGR. Before i thought the valve was blanked. But that was wrong. EGR working, modulator ok. valve opening and closing and ok. I added a copy of the fault. May be i am crazy and can not count, or other think I am crazy to, because no P38 can give code 33. See the video and pic I made.

I try to upload a short video with the code 33, but i can not upload it to the forum. sorry. If you know how to upload (only 491kb) let me know, otherwise i can send it in a privet mail.

ok I thought may be somebody know. Pity nobody saw it before. May be I will find it later or just keep on driving with the faultcode 33 car haha

The pictures of faults you have posted are pretty normal, they come up on cranking, I suspect due to battery volt drop, they can be ignored.

yes do not worry. i ignore it and let it. but that faultcode 33 was interesting me..... i know a lot, but never saw faultcode 33. so i thought may be someone see it before...

I'm not worried, I know what goes on with mine which is also a late model.

Yer, whatever.:)

For christ sake when is this bloke going to stop with this nonsense. There is no code 33 for the BMW M51 engine. Plenty of code 33s for petrol engines with various meanings depending on engine, but none for the M51.

Fredi, I have sent you a reply to your pm, we are not disputing that you have the code 33 but it has no relevance to your motor. Ignore it. What is your location/nationality. I think there is some confusion in our replies/humour. Kindest regards and not taking the p*ss Alan

Oh no not any problems with any humor, Do not be afraid. If you thought so, that is misunderstanding.

Thanks all for thinking and helping. !

Hmmm, not looked at flash codes on the M51, but on the cars I have looked at, the flash codes only show once and the sequence has to be restarted to see again. Unless I'm mistaken, 33 is repeating which would suggest to me that it's just an idle state indication.

they are all repeated 3 times. first a start code 12
show 3 times.
then the first faultcode (also showed 3 times)
then second faultcode (showed 3 times)
etc.
end of transmission again 12 (3 times)
then it restarts again with the codes.

you can try it on your car

quote:
To do self diagnostics. Bridge terminal 4 & 15. Now turn ignition to 2nd position. trouble codes Will display after short pause .each code repeated 3 times. First code 12 (start test) eml flashes once (signifies 1) pause then 2 flashes once (signifies 2) this repeated total 3 times. Then any codes are displayed in same format. 34 would be 3 flashes pause 4 flashes repeated total 3 times. End of test Will be code 12 again.
