Dont confuse him even further! His learning curve is already steep! :D

Can you get someone to help him out a bit?

If not, I shall be up at the beginning of August, I could have a look if he pms me contact details.

Whereabouts in the Smoke is he ?
which side of the river might help ?

The lift pump lifts fuel from the fuel tank to feed the injection pump. There is no gravity feed, the fuel tank is below the level of the engine.

Why cant you let it run?

Oh I see , I don't see why this would have a problem as the fuel is coming up to the injectors with no problem .
Because it smokes A LOT ! I feel bad with people passing.
I tired to give a little run earlier just going forward 100m and come back , it was hilarious

Surely their's some one nearish to Max to go & give him a dig ????

Steve
Thanks but unless someone s around the corner I would feel bad . But if there's a good soul around south london who would like to spend an hour to have a look I wouldn't say no haha. Got beers and food :p

Well drive it around a bit more, good run down the motorway, see if it clears. Check the oil and water after a short run, then carry on. Smoke is proably just oil in the engine from the rebuild.

And as above, try posting a more accurate location, maybe someone will come and look at it for you.

I hope it is sorted by then too. But if it isn't, I will be up on August the 6th, and in town for about a week.

If you pm me contact details, I will come and have a look at it then. I wont have my tools and kit with me, but can probably provide and accurate diagnosis, and an opinion on the general condition of the the vehicle.

Ok I will try to push it but it I've got almost no power though , I highly doubt I can go on the motorway in that state

I'm in Woolwich, can try to get over during the week ...
PM me your details and we can arrange summat...

Could be as boring as a split boost hose ...

Definetly , that would help a lot ! maybe I can even try to bring it to you ? worst case I've got a van from work I could get someone to give me a hand to pull it

You don't even have enough power to pull away?
sorry I meant push as like "press the pedal" yes I have enough to make a round around the neighbourhood but that's pretty much it, I actually didn't even try because I would have to go trough a steep hill and a bit scared to risk it

As Dippy says, boost hose or a failed turbo, blocked air hose, quite a few things could cause that. I would be 99.9% sure that isn't an injector pump failure though.
