You do mean Diesel don't you ?

( cos if you did put petrol in it, it needs to come out rather quickly! it might even be causing the issues you have.... )
haha yes I mean diesel, it's just that english isn't my first language , and I took a bad habit of using "petrol" to describe any fuel

Without driving it? Bloody ages!
200s run cool and need to work to get heat into them.
If the temp doesn't work I suspect it was reading in the red and the bodger who did the conversion disconnected it.
The disco sender is incompatible with the Defender gauge.
There are a couple of options for you to take on this but let's get the engine sorted first.
by the way talking about that, on the paperwork it simply says land rover 200tdi engine swap so I am not entirely sure if I have a disco or defender 200tdi , if I have the exhaust manifold and turbo going up from the head then it is a defender 200tdi isn't it ?

Yes your pictures show a defender turbo setup with the turbo at the top

Just make sure the coolant hose from the head gets hot the whole way along.

Its easy to airlock the pump on the 300, and I assume the 200 is the same.
I think that was one of the main differences between 200 & 300 that they moved the pump at the request of the men in green to make changing it easier but introducing airlock problems

I swear the OP said it was a Disco lump but just checked the first post and he didn't .
So, maxlondon , ignore my post in relation to the temp sender ok.

Ah but you never know it could be a disco motor with a defender turbo fitted

I think I read somewhere that the Defender exhaust manifold won't fit to the disco head, slight differences in the bolt spacing ?
Can't see it myself but don't know for sure.
A pic of the FIP position would confirm.

it was wrong, the heads are the same

Alright , thanks , that's what I thought but checking online , I got a bit confused with people showing a turbo up like mine but aparently saying that it was a disco

Ok :) you can call me max ;)
I'll get a pick of the fuel pump , it is the one with the arm moving when I accelerate right ?

Phew! No problem - your English is better than my French, so you carry on:)

I'm watching this thread, and given that you are getting good advice, I'm staying on the sidelines...

Did you get the compression test done yet ?

His English is better than most of the locals around here!

This kind of thread is always useful and interesting. Its refreshing to find someone who fully admits his/her limitations and is not afraid to ask. Also good to see so many willing to help. LZ at its best.

Edit; I should also add. It gets tiresome when "some" come on, ask a question, get their answer and P off without even a nod.

Yes , I have to say everyone on this forum helped a lot and really take time even though I started from 0.
I really wasn't expecting much, but I owe a pack of beer to a lot of people in here !
