Hello All..

My TD4 has a ‘Becker’ in car entertainment and satnav system fitted. (6 CD changer under drivers seat etc)

I would like to upgrade this to a modern system that.

1. Fits properly

2. Has Apple/smartphone connection etc

3. Decent Navigation app

4. Not overly expensive..

5. Doesn’t blow up current speakers system etc.

Current radio etc is okay but a bit limited and being a tech grandad etc I have gotten used to listening to Spotify etc and CD changers don’t cut the mustard (never thought I’d write that ever!!)

Any suggestions?

Thank in adance.

Malcolm

If you like listening to compressed music, the streaming music is OK. CD is still king for quality though, and the better the speakers, the worse compressed music begins to sound. ;)

Basically any double DIN with a suitable wiring conversion harness will fit though.

Wait a minute… people still call their car audio ‘ICE’?
1998 called and they want their Blaupunkt CD radio back. :D
The systems in newer vehicles is generally known as the infotainment system. ICE is an old term, and still valid for an older style vehicle.

Not yet. Tested on bench. Added USB DAB adapter and reverse cam.
Getting wiring converters made up before change over.
I think this probably deserves it's own thread to see how you get on. I've been wanting to do a decent upgrade from the Becker system for some time and fancy that kind of HU, but am wary of all these chinese units.
