I have a disco 300tdi at the moment that quite frankly is rotten rotten rotten but the engine box axles etc are in decent order, can you see where im heading with this? And Italy isn't so far from Poland,I reckon there and back in a day and a half tops even at transporter speed. Which bit are you in? On my phone at the mo so can't see your profile.

North-east, about an hour's drive south of Venice. Mechanically mine is in perfect nick. The body has a few bumps and scratches from various laning trips. I've had her serviced regularly every six months (I've got all the receipts from my mechanic) more or less since I've had her. I've not got the 5th spare wheel (the first mechanic "lost it"). I have no idea what to ask being a total nincompoop when it comes to selling and buying things so I have to get a professional opinion.

Just let me know when you have an idea on price, it's a shame you can't just swap the engine out though, she sounds a good un.1300km isn't too bad, so is it a non runner at the moment?

Yep but I've found a second hand ECU so will see if that one works and my Tuning mate wants to try fixing my old ECU. Will let you know for sure; it would've great if she goes to you :)

There is a fantastic company in uk for ECUS. Pm me if you want details. They can fix almost anything(Barr immobilisers on jeep).

The mechanic has got her back on the road. I got another ECU from a friend that had one in his garden shed and that one works. The throttle body problem was apparently solved by taking two throttle bodies to bits and making a 'new' one with the good bits from both. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. At least I've got some proper wheels again (for now). And hopefully some time to decide what to do next.

The latest in my Land Rover saga... went to collect the damned thing from the mechanic's yesterday evening because it was finally ready. Drove it about 500 metres to the petrol station to fill up because it was petrol-less and broke down. It would not start! So it's still at the mechanic's.
And I was so happy because it was running properly again ...

:( not good.

A mega huge massive thanks to Aidso for recommending the ECU mending people to me. I sent them my ECU to have it tested. They didn't charge me anything for the test and told me the ECU hardware is perfect and advised me to get it remapped. Have had it reprogrammed and it looks like the problem has been sorted (fingers crossed).

Glad they could help. Very nice and helpful people that like a good challenge.

Mandy running ace so far. Got her new corners fixed and LZ stickers stuck :)

It's a Rover 2.0 mpi petrol engine, as found on the Rover 800. So yes, an obsolete petrol thingy.

Got the mechanic to take the tow point off and make a recovery point instead and this is what he came up with. Yes it's great.

I'm just so glad we managed to get her sorted and that it was straightforward to fix once someone sussed out the problem.
