Random question, does anyone know anything about amps and hi-fis? My dad has a really old one (1960s) which has stopped working properly and only produces very quiet sounds at different volumes for each speaker. Unbelieveably i found a circuit diagram for the whole unit online!

I used to repair electronic stuff and I've done a bit of audio amp design too. It was a while ago though, but give me a shout at the pub meet and we can chat about it.

Sorry jcuk I hope you guys had a good time. I decided not to come, I will hopefully get over to Luton some time soon before Wales with these ropes (I haven't received them yet). It is a bit far for 2 times a month and I can't exactly drink much as I've got to drive back! I'll keep you guys posted on how the ropes are coming along.

Fitted a small fridge in the landy today but the stupid cheap ebay 12v socket broke so I'll have to get another to get it working again. Non permanent and easy to reach, just held in place on the middle seat by the lap belt! Result! Might get a pic for my progress thread which has gone dry for a couple of weeks! Next I really have to get round to fitting this diesel heater!

Ok anyone know anyone in Wales that is likley to have a spare rear axle v8 disco aka Jamie one of the rangyboys left a message on my mobile for a whole complete rear axle disco/RR all i have is he is in Wales will get more info asap

If you can find one around here , or maybe around gloucester area I should be able to take it with me to wales as I'm probably going to south wales on easter sunday and going north to meet the rest of you a few days later. I know its a little while to wait, but if he can't find one..

CharlesY hasn't had the time to pack them yet, I'll let you know when I get them. I can't imagine its all that quick to pack 1500 ft of thick rope and we are getting them dirt cheap so give him half a chance! :p

Well the box is gonna have to be fitted seeing as how there is no shaft on t'other one any more! Its been run dry for a while so I'll have to take a chance on the pas pump and bite the bullet if it is knackered... thinking it might be worth keeping my eye out for a donor vehicle at this rate!

Not sure what type you want but im just about to put a pas pump on ebay its brand new never been used? :nospamhere:

Hello all,

Not been here for a while looks like everyone has been busy. Got a couple of days off this week so have to get out onto the landy and get it ready for the wales trip, not been out in it since the all night recovery!

Jai i shall give you a call in the week rearding your message, sounds like an idea but just have to see what the misses wants to do.

Not had anytime to get anything done of late, what with being out the country for the last 3 weeks more or less.

Well my 300TDI Disco is coming together and looking to have her MOT’d at the end of the month. I’m after either a volunteer or for someone to point me in the direction of someone who would be kind enough to volunteer to do some small simple pieces of welding to the chassis, rear body mounts and a couple of other areas (all areas just need plating)

Everything has been cleaned down, treated and fully prepped so just ready for the metal to be cut to the welders preferences and to be welded.

More than happy to financially cover someone’s costs & time as well as constant stream of tea, bacon sandwiches and witty conversation.

Oh and I’m just outside Ware in Much Hadham.

I'm busy through April, but if it gets to May and you still need it done, please PM me and i'll see what i can do.

How easy is it to change a CV Joint!? I'm getting a horrid noise when on full lock at slow/med speeds!? on a lighter note, hopefully squeeky UJs gone as I've changed them and greased every nipple I can find! Wondering if all that pulling front wheel sideways in essex has gotten to something in the steering now!... Thoughts!?

Not too bad to do a CV make sure you get the right one. Its not so bad for your mota but defender/90 have many options/years manufacturer

Ta Jai, that's what they reckon it is on Disco owners forum, there's defo something odd going on, vibrations and my squeak still there etc plus this clicking/grinding type noise when on full lock... They're all occasional and not constant but I'd like to try get it sorted do I can do the wales trip... Pretty sure its come about due to all the dragging it sideways... ;)

I know nuffink but... wouldn't the squeak suggest that the wheel bearings would benefit from checking at the very least...perhaps even replacing?

Yeah Ryder, wheel bearings on the list too.. I did the rears last summer... If I'm gonna do the CV then I'll do the bearings at same time... She'll be like new what's going into her at the minute!!
