Leonberger, I hope we don't need gas masks for the new engine too.
I saw the Lanc on the way to 40 Foot, always a fantastic sight and sound.

It died with it's boots on, did the centre section of the Billing mudhole twice, when the Rangie before us got well stuck and had to be towed out. Even the Marshals were cheering, they couldn't believe it went straight through. Did a bomb hole that a bobbed Disco couldn't do. To end it all 40 foot, pretty much unassisted.
It will be back better than ever, no doubt about it.

Just trim the arches or fit extended ones and fit extended bump stops and extended brake hoses. You buy it mate and I can fit it :D

There is a lot of tat out there tho mate so give me a shout before you part with any cash.

Leonberger,

DB is right, check first before you buy as there is so much tat about, some pointless some handy and some just pointless bling! Plus I'm sure we can point you in the cheapest direction for most parts. I'm known for scouring the internet for weeks just to get some dosh off or find an equal cheaper alternative so I'm sure between us we can get you sorted cheaply.

I've been on the look out for longer shocks cheaper than £40 each. I want to get more articulation although its a complicated subject, its not just a case of longer shocks (I wish).

So if anyone knows of any readily available cheap shocks with more travel than below let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Front 8.6inches of travel, (12.9in compressed)(21.5in extended).
Rear 7.9inches of travel, (13.8in compressed) (21.7in extended).

hope you all had an awesome day at billing, just got up! the joy of nights! back to work tonight, off next week if your going night laning let me know!!
cheers all

Dan
If your off this week and you don't mind a bit off a drive, we'll be doing some night driving this Thursday round some lanes near me in Surrey, let me know and i'll PM you the details.

Jai, might be a bit small. I saw a Military Landy with a cage on the back door for external storage. I'm trying to track it down.

No, we got there but Glenn was nowhere around and I left my damn phone at home. Typical!

Not sure whether Glenn got there and took a look before we arrived or not. Someone has had a go at building a ramp to get up onto it from the north side though.

Still, drove it with the Frontiera before we came home again.

Still think it might be winchable... but only time will tell. I could be completely wrong.

thanks for the message BTW. If I had had my phone with me it would have been really useful!

Ryder, Frontera???

I drove up on top of it with my front wheel from the bottom of the hill, but reallised the block was shorter than my wheelbase, so would have been stranded perched on top of it, resting on my gearbox crossmember, so i reversed back off of it and turned around. Might have another go when mine is working again, now I've got more ground clearance. Will be careful though as concrete is pretty unforgiving.

Maybe the ramp was meant for someone to dismount from the block not the other way around.

We met up with some guys and their girlfriends in a fronteira the other night. Kev n I went out and did a little night laning with them. They called tonight and said they ahd seen the forum and the thread and would go down to see whether they could lend a hand. Since Glenn wasn't about when we were there it seemed easier to do a few lanes on the way home!

They've said they would like to try Furneaux Pelham so I am thinking about running across there on Saturday. If anyone else is up for a ford or three and a few lanes then please feel free to indulge!

Count me out of the next few weekends, motor or no motor.
Seaford this W/E, Axminster next, Manchester the one after. The oil companies will think Christmas has come early.
