Haven't been back long from seeing WALL' E. Getting of to bed soon, need to be up early tomorrow to meet up with my lift to Billing. If we aim to do the Surrey lanes on the 2nd or 3rd of August and see if that works out with everyone. Try and work out a day, so everyone that wants to come can make it. Week days are OK with me as well if anyone wants to do a late one and get in some night driving. Bedford to here only about an hours drive if you catch the traffic right. See everyone in the morning at Billing.

Well, what d'ya know, went out to take the dog for a walk up at steppingly. Classic Kev caught up with us and we met up with two guys and their g/fs in a Frontiera. Decided a little night laning would be in order so went out to do a few. Fording in the dark is interesting! All trundled through and just got home. A really good night had by all.

Looks like I am skipping tomorrow. Money issues mean that I have to be sensible.

Definitely up for Surrey sometime soon though!

Glad to see spyderman and co had such a good time at billing!

Cheers all

Ryder

Jai, when's that trial you were talking about? I'd definitely be up for riding shotgun if the invitation is still open.

Mid week is good for me also. What sort of time committments do you have mid week Kris? When do you knock off work?

Billing was good, at least it was dry this year!

Went with Spyderman and Jai_Landrover to 40 Foot Lane, Discobasher was riding shotgun with Spyderman. That was a challenge. We all needed a little pull here and there, well to be honest I needed a bit more coz I didn't have the ground clearance but got through it eventually but I think I was almost airbourne at one point, had to use the "more speed" approach in places.

Spyderman, can't wait to see the photos. Jai and I did a couple of fords to clean some of the mud off - you should have seen the looks we got going through Bedford.

Anyway, thanks guys will doubtless see you again soon.

Big thanks to Zoolandy for the tickets.:D

Had a really good day...............until my engine went bang 2 miles from DB's house. Had to get a tow. Looks very terminal on the engine front, so I'm out of action until I get a new one.
Feeling of Deja Vu me thinks.

You don't get a lot of luck with engines at the moment do you mate!

What an end to an otherwise brilliant day (from the sound of things). Well you know if you need one collecting you have only to shout!

Cheers

OOOOHHH that doesn't sound good!!

You should have given me a call, we couldn't have been far behind you going down the A6, we could have turned left toward Shefford. A bit late now and no consolation I know. If I can help with anything let me know.

The intention is if things go to plan, is to return with an upgrade. Say goodbye to 2 1/4 Diesel and move up to 2.5 NA. Should make it even more capable, without losing the Series feel.
Couldn't have happened at a worse time though, well maybe in the middle of Salisbury Plain would have been worse.
Really tight on time ATM, Seaford next w/e, Manchester the one after.

Don't worry mate at least its in the right place for me to spend a bit of time on it.:D

It was awesome today tho !
Showed a few others how its done.

OK I have to ask... I've been resisting the temptation but it's got the better of me.

Was it as wet and sticky as it was when we last did it (and I nearly tok up residence). Would I have got through? Looking at the photos (thanks spyderman) it looks just as bad as when I attempted it and there is no way in hell I would have made it, but the rangie seems to be doing ok. My ATs would have had trouble I am sure... but having had to miss out on the fun I can't help wondering what my chances would have been!

Hey Kris,

The guys we went out with last night were saying that they came to your neck of the woods last week and had a wonderful day's laning. A lot of varied terrain and a few more challenging lanes too. Makes me look forward to our visit even more than I was already!

Took a drive down Bunyon's chimney last night. Saw the concrete block Spyderman was talking about a week or so ago. Maybe it could be winched out of the way to allow vehicles to pass but it would need someone more knowledgable than me to make that assessment. Perhaps Jai would be willing to take a drive down with me one evening and take a look, see whether we could correct this wrong that has beendone to an otherwise lovely lane.
