Well,

The best laid plans of mice and men. Was going to do stuff like put the front back on me engine BUT,

Ryder asked for a hand with his CB twig and after a bit of mucking about that was sorted, then it started raining so called it quits and went to the pub!

Should still get it sorted tomorrow so hopefully will be at Billing Sunday.

Not a problem. It happens - deal with it! Seriously though, I was happy to help out, I'll have mine back together tomorrow as long as the weather isn't too bad.

I tend to take the view that the odd favour here and there does no harm, one day I may need a favour in return.

OK Guys. I know this is going to prove an unpopular request in some quarters but....

I really want to go and drive Strata Florida. I've read so many reviews, looked through this month's roadbook and spoken to people who have driven it and say that it is not to be missed.

I know it is a fair trek from here, but if there is anyone that would be willing to join me sometime over the next 6 weeks (school hols), it would make for a really good day's driving I am sure.

Spyderman, I know we could trailer your motor over there so... anyone interested?

Sounds like a fair plan but time pressure could be an issue.

I think that will certainly be a long weekend kind of gig.

dont think so. The roadbook says its a day's drive. Of course we could go down the night before but even thenits only 2 day event. Seems a shame to rule it out.

Took me 3 hours to do 120 miles (mainly motorway) towing that little astra and Strata Florida is 175 miles from me. Its a bit ambitious for a days drive. I agree with Kev that its a weekend jobbie

is that a no then? we drive serious mileage on our laning days. Ijust feel that a great lane like this shoulod be worth a look. I'm happy to make a weekend of it and have the rest of the weekend either laning some of the other local lanes or taking in the sights. 300 odd miles? 6 hours friving... some of us do that on a single busy client visit. Over a weekend it should be easily achievable. And I would gladly pull the trailer.

Have to agree with Discobasher. Not really a one day trip. There and back and laning you'll be looking at 400+ miles in one hit. A weekend trip is a possibility.

Then there is the inevitable BUT. Finances are going to take a bit of a hit in the next couple of weeks, Billing this weekend, bits of laning whenever and then the Salisbury trip is about 6 weeks time.

Would love to go and do it but will need to think about when. I could also maybe ask the guys I know in North Wales if they'd like to join us.

A definate possibility of a maybe, if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean about the finances, and the time contraint.I guess i am just conscious that it would b favourite from my own (admittedly selfish) point of viewif we didn't have to worry about getting the kids back to school on monday morning.

I gotta turn in. Want an early start for a good days spannerin tomorrow, but I think Strata Florida is certainly one to put on the "to do" list.

See ya later!

Would love to go and give it a go but to be totally honest I would'nt want to drive 175 miles then go laning for a day and drive all the way back. You've also got to factor in that there would have to be plenty of toilet stops for the kids and grub stops etc. Would really be a weekend thing and as Kev said it would be a bit of a stretch for me after the holiday in Ireland and the Salisbury trip. Maybe something to look in to in the future mate.

Hang on a sec... I'm talking about driving down... maybe camping the evening and driving the route the next morning. Admittedly its a long drive. I am not holidaying this year so it may be easier for me.

If none of our lot are up for it, maybe we'll try it late in the holidays and hook up with some locals for a day out.

Kai's really into castles and so on and there are plenty to keep him occupied, and the historic sites along the way should be good for a visit too.

Hi Chris, sounds like it would be a good trip, but it's the same for me as well, funds are a bit on the short side. Going to struggle to find the cash just to get up to Bedfordshire for a while, anyone up for coming down this way and i'll show you round the Surrey lanes.
