battery was ****ed this morning that warning light yesterday was trying to tell me something. got it on charge i will have to try to and find the cause may be alternator full of ****.

a very jolly time was had by all, good brian got his trailing arm sorted so quick

Defently confused by the starter.
Yesterday morning wouldn't start, get a turn out of it then it would dis-engage.
Took it off stripped it down and greased it, bolted it back on and still wouldn't start.
Wire brushed the terminals and its started, tried it about 10 times and started up fine.
Fine at Bures, only once it did it but started second go.
Last night spent a good half an hour jet washing the truck down then left it running to dry it out.
Switched off and tried starting it again half an hour later and it took about 10 attempts to get it to crank over properly.
Then this morning tried to start it and was having none of it. Took the starter off again and stripped the terminals, wire brushing the connectors, nuts and washers.
Bolted it back on the truck and still wouldn't engage for more than a turn and now the batteries flat.

Time to face facts Chris, sometimes things just come to the end of there life and no end of stripping and cleaning is gonna fix em, time to get a decent second had one, they cant be too expensive.....

By the way, if anyone has a couple of trailing arms spare (IE, going cheaply) then I will have them. I need to give one back to my mate and will be keeping a spare myself now.

and bollox to the suspension. perhaps next time you might get all 4 wheels off the ground.

Dont worry about that, I had me tie wraps with me if he broke it......;)

Chris's motor will one day be held together by tie wraps and gaffer tape..

Was just having a quick look on ebay for someone breaking a landy locally to me and I found this.

Spares or repair on eBay (end time 31-Oct-10 20:59:47 GMT)

Looks like the price is a bargain for the bits alone, Winch, bumper, Wheels plus all those other spares, or maybe one to get through an MOT and run as a proper off road toy.

What do you guys think? i dont think my missus would let me though, Just started a lower paid job and got loads of debts, I only got my one as she can use it in the snow.

I thought we shouldnt drive the old lanes if they look this wet and in this condition?? What is the actual rule on this? I get LRO every month, and they make quite a big deal about not going on lanes that are going to get churned up and in a sh*t state, so i just wondered?

Eh?

Those are not lanes, us Essex lot got together this weekend in a Pay and Play site specifically designed for just this type of thing. :)
