If I could find a Defender for £1100 then it would be....

I just got offered a defender this morning by some bloke in a transit he said it was a 90 safari on a brand new galvanized chassis £1500 sounds very suspect to me! But may not be? But if anyones interested I have his card

Glav chassis will go for that, sound's very suspect too me to!
From a bloke in a transit sould be the give away.

Got a small bit on the chassis repaired today then carried on with my rear crossmember idea...... got ****ed off and scrapped it in the end. It was far too heavy and made the back rather interesting to say the least! Door wouldn't shut, gaps completely wrong, etc, etc... So I've bit the bullet and ordered a new replacement crossmember. Collecting it from Land Rover tomorrow :-|

It's now scheduled to rain for the rest of the week :(

What is on his card, did it have a land line phone no.

Not sure the card is in the truck, there was a mobile number and another which i think was a landline number, the card advertises vans bought and sold, can pm you more details, if needed.

keep that card safe. if your truck goes missing you know who to call.

I was at a local 4x4 place today sorting out rear crossmember part and saw 5 of the defenders for sale (older ones) sitting on blocks. I thought they'd had their wheels stolen but apparently he takes all the wheels off and the steering wheel to immobilise them. They're right in the centre of the compound and boxed in with discos & gaylanders. Only a helicopter would be able to get at them lol :)

It's crazy why they are stolen so often :confused:

Thats true!! i was really paranoid when i first got it but a bit more relaxed now....got a gaurenteed payout set on the insurance thats a lot more than i paid for it plus ive added a few security measures ;)

Only changed the prop doughnut rubber as the old one was about to give up, then went to Watford and back in it and it's so much smoother.

Done over 300 miles now on half a tank with no issues.

I have decided to not buy anything until the peterborough show when I will go along with a pocket full of cash and hope for some bargains.

Wish list:

Tyres
Suspension
Diff guards
Steering guard
Snorkel
Rear door inner panel
Odd bits of trim and boot carpet.
Rubber mat set.

And anything else I can think of between now and then.
