I've just taken it over the pit and I have just found oil drops all around the vacuum pump which have been dripping down onto the top of the engine mount and front diff. Hence no marks on the floor

Filled the oil back up to max mark, cleaned vac pump all up with thinners and will take it out tomorrow and see if the oil re-appears. I might even wrap a white rag around it and tie it in place then I'll see how much oil (if indeed it is where it is coming from) has leaked out.

Fookin thing

Ah my Vac pump leaks, changed the gasket and it still does it

Think its the actual pump as it appears to be dripping off the casing

Gents don't worry to much about oil leaks if it's not ****ing out your ok there land rovers after all :D they all leak oil, there's an old landy saying ( if there's no oil under it there's no oil in it:D)

The problem is that it is costing me more in oil than it is in diesel lol!

Finally finished my 2" lift

Yep, i have a sticker on mine thats says 'Landrovers dont leak oil, they are just marking their territory' :D

thanks Geoff :)

Picked up me welder today, will be asking loads of questions on the whys and wherefores
cause i know FA about welding.

Had itchy fingers today and nearly bought a 300tdi 110 :) Note I said nearly, had to walk away as I really couldn't justify it at the moment. But as I've started looking, I don't think it will be long :D :D

Getting shot of my old Transit soon. Gonna give it a Viking send off then will look at sorting the Disco 100% and then I can get a new toy!

Also, Chris/Nick/Mike, can you confirm anything about Wednesday?

Wednesday MCD Braintree @ 20:00
I suspect you won't be in a green rust bucket ;)

As Drizz said can we head straight off. I need to start heading home by 23:00. I'm happy with the local lanes. Starting to get to know them well :D

Who else is coming?

I suspect you won't be in a green rust bucket ;)

I'd be careful as Stu is bigger than you ;) He is very fond of his Disco - you might upset him :alien:

And if you were referring to mine then I am 2nd Dan Martial Artist ;)

If the boot floor comes out over the weekend then I won't be coming. If it stops in then I'll pop down and have a play.

Did we ever explore the routes further north of Braintree? Game for going were we go normally but always good to try new areas.

:lol::lol::lol: Perhaps I was referring to the fact all the rust has been removed

I know mine is an old rust bucket and as Mikey said 'the paintwork looks like its got aids' But I still love it (well sometimes  )

Still I've been hankering for a 90 soft top since before I got the Disco.
This one LINK has been for sales for 2 - 3 months, its dropped froom £5500 to £4000, its 2 miles up the road from me and he may swap + some cash for a late 300 tdi Disco. Almost meant to be... apart from not enough ££££ & I wouldn't want to leave it on the main road for fear of theft or vandalism.

Hope you make it on Wednesday.

Chris, I'm more than happy to try some new lanes!

Turns out my clicking and knocking are the front prop UJ's ****ed!!! Yey! At least it isn't the CV
lol.gif

Ordered a couple of genuine ones so that'll be another job to do

Pressed in some new UJ's last night. God does a huge workshop press save hammering and hurt fingers!

Then this morning Stu came round and touched my plasma cutter again............

It then, in the usual fashion started to rain so Stu went home and I broke out the wire brushes on the grinder.........

Tomorrow should see rest of panels cut out, chassis wire brushed all round on rear and painted, sedimentor removed as well as 2 new floor side panels welded in. I will then sort out the paint boot floor during the week.

there's always tomorrow.......... finger at the ready, I am wondering looking at the pic looks like there still a bit of surface rust on the chassis, wondering if rust converter is worth a thought before painting ?

I'll get a grinding wheel on it tomorrow then we'll go over it with that stuff we bought followed by some paint.
