Well that was another **** day..... Stu came round and did a bit of grinding + we cut some more holes in the ****ing thing. Then I got the n/s side floor panel in. Got o/s arch to repair then I'll be able to get that panel in followed by the main floor section.

Slow job and a **** job :(

On the bright side (if ever there was one)..... One less bit to do :hippie:

Ya getting there slowly mate, once it's all done it will be worth it, the disco will be good for many more years, keep ya chin up sounds like ya loosing a little faith, if I lived closer to ya I'd be round to give you a hand, keep at it, ya nearly there:)

Your getting their Matt, At least once its done its won't need doing for many years and you'll be back enjoying the Disco.

I've got some time spare next Saturday (At last!!!!)
Really want to go and play but should do a few jobs on the Disco.

Anyone fancy a trip up to Debenham ford followed by a few lanes. Could be combined with a few hours of maintenance before hand?

Well I've been out early this morning. Ground back the welds from yesterday and seam sealed the inside. Doesn't look half bad :)

Just popped in for a cuppa then will finish fettling the inner wing and arch to hopefully accept the new panel on the other side. I also found some thin 1.2mm angle to join the floor onto the rear crossmember so that should be able to go in today :D

I'm not loosing faith..... Just get so ****ed off with the weather and how long it takes to remove a rotten piece of steel. I prefer working with clean metal :)

As I haven't got any work at the moment, you could pop over for your de-cat. I am aiming to have mine sorted for thurs/fri and back on the road as I have a few meetings next week that I need to get to.

And a random note for anyone repairing a Disco...... I have used 18kg of welding wire so far and 3 cylinders of gas, and I am not finished  That did including Stu's botches to his but even still

What does that much welding equipment mean in monetary terms?

I would imagine welding wire and gas ain't cheap.

I have "lost" a few cylinders from my works account and wire isn't really dear. I know I've spent under £120 on supplies. I have personally bought 1 half size cylinder refill and a 15kg roll of wire. Everything else has been on works account which was another cylinder and anti splatter spray, etc...

Not much more welding to do really. The main boot floor panel is being riveted in incase it ever has to be removed again. That'll also mean I can paint it a lot more thoroughly as the paint won't burn off.

You're welcome to pop over and lend a hand :D

I've got family shopping duties today, looking for sofas. If I let my missus go off on her own I've only myself to blame when a pink suite turns up.

Will be popping up to see Drizz later and finish off a couple of jobs on the landy.

If you have John down there, he'll pass it no problems

If there was something wrong with it, it would have fallen to bits by now

Sounds good to me.
I've got to drop the kids off @ 10:00 and then I'll take a drive over.
I'll clean the rust around the wheel arch. So we can take a look, see what you think?

Debenham ford is only 25 min's from you so maybe a few local lanes and then Debenham ford.
Stu, you about?
