Alll this welding going on looks like I'm going to get my front dumb irons and hole in passenger outrigger sorted, might have to have a chat with you matt next time we meet as it's been a while since I did any welding :D

Chris defo go for the tray back that would look the nuts mate:)

Just pop it round mate and we'll sort it out.

You had a look at your yet Nick?

No not yet.
Its got an ABS fault which keeps catching me out.
I've looked at removing the system to avoid MOT failure buts its not as simple as that.

Its booked in at the garage to get 'plugged in' tomorrow to find out what the fault is.
When the light is on its fine the ABS in't working and you know where you stand (or rather where you are going to stop).
But when its off the ABS triggers randomly, this is normally when I'm approaching an immovable object (two brown trouser moments so far!).

One of the guys @ the garage is an MOT'er so he's going to take a look over the motor and let me know what it's likely to fail on.

Glad to see you and Matt are making good progress and you can keep that gas axe away from mine (for now).

See you Tuesday!

I had the same problem with my ABS, a couple of times there was just a manic pulsing from the brakes as you touched the pedal but no slowing down.

My light was on all the time until I tapped down one of the front sensors that appeared to be a bit higher than the other.

Then it behaved itself for a few weeks but started to play up again.

Good luck in getting it sorted.

I'll cross me fingers for you mate, but me fingers still just above that button......

Yeah see you there, be good to get the ball rolling on this trip.

Have had a ponder about the boot floor today while driving(!!!!!) my land rover down to the dump to tip a load of crap that was floating around the garden, workshop and work :D

I am going to use the original Land Rover panels. I did plan on using a sheet of steel for the middle then using the Land Rover panels for the sides but I reconsidered as there isn't much strength in a 2x1m sheet of 2mm steel - very floppy ;) and I wasn't spending time swaging it!

Panels are all ready to go in. Will get Tuesday's meet out the way then will start it :)

Oh and I've got some wicked sunburn on my face again from all of Stu's plasma cutting :( :( :(

Also: breather manifolds! I will bring them with me on Tuesday. If you defiantly want one, bring £3 in right money - Ta!

Just won an as new Clarke 160t mig welder on ebay, and the best bit just sold some laminate flooring i have had knocking about for ages on ebay that pretty much covers the cost of the mig, just got to put 20 quid towards it. Well i'm happy. just got to learn how to weld now.

Would have finished sooner but had my stag do over the weekend and only felt human again today :D

Im not getting updates for some reason. I thought this had been quiet but obviously not!
Also i cant reply on the other group bit, although someone told me i was included?
What does one do?

Ive just noticed your not a member of the mud monkeys group mate, you will have to ask geoff to add you he maintains the group.

Great night all ;)

Hopefully we're all a little more genned up now!

Will have a look about laning next Wednesday. Need to see what is going on welding wise. Don't want to be driving it half way through the replacement as it'll **** all the clean metal up. Already got a boot full of diesel soot where the section above the exhaust has been cut out by Stu!

Bit of a puzzle........... Just checked my oil and it is sitting on the minimum mark on the dipstick. Before I came to colchester last night, it was sitting exactly on the max mark. I checked it parked in the same place both times the engine was cold???

No oil marks on the floor

Any ideas before I get ****ed at it again?

Well if its not in the coolant then it has to be burning it surely

thats a lot of oil though and I would think it would be smoking quite abit

It isn't in the coolant. No mayo or anything like that

Only a little smokey on startup (probably due to the biodiesel), soon as it is warm, it's fine.
