I drive a freelander, Its great, i love it. great in the snow!.. but if i could afford to buy and run a disco of the same age/spec i probably would have bought one instead of the freelander. However i can't, and although some of the banter on here is funny at times it can be annoying when your car is broken and u just want some advice. I don't go on forums for cars i consider to be inferior and take the ****. I think a few little comments about freelanders being gay can be amusing but when u have to search through loads of posts of crap to try and find someone prepared to help it gets a bit much.

theres always other forums you could use :)

Well, you've got a mini in your avatar and toastie elbows in your 90 so I'm guessing you and Pikey could stand on each others shoulders and make a whole person:behindsofa::D

No seats in the back of the mini cus thats where i sit to drive it LOL :D

I can put a pic of my Disco if that makes you feel better? :p

are you trying to say theres something wrong with being vertically challenged?:cool::p

It's all part of the community spirit mate. If it wasn't for all the retarded disco and fender owners comments it'd be a pretty boring place. Remember they need something to make them feel superior, and because they can't find that in a real person, they pick on Freelanders. I know their posts are repetitive and predictable but please bare in mind their limited vocabulary.

"Yay....lets off road" :hysterically_laughi

It's one of those catch 22's I think - everyone knows the joke is tired and SO old but as long as people react, there's a reason to prod them I suppose is the 'logic'!

Bless us all I say, village idiots an all :)

Care in the community and all that ;)

Let's off road once you've polished up your spelling.

Oh, sorry, you're too busy polishing a turd.

I particularly liked this bit

I think there's a gaylander confession in there by default!!! So boring in fact that solace and amusement is only found by playing with each others willies!!!:D:D:D (and cutting each others hair)

I've always considered banter as **** taking between mates :D

That said, its a bit raw when a new bloke turns up looking for serious help and gets nowt but a slagging ........ and turning on him when he objects is just childish!

How about we save the abuse for those who have been around for a while and know what the score is :p

We all know petrol FL's have HGF issues, we all know Old Disco owners have replaced the loadspace, we all know that Series owners have their own welding kit and that Defender owners can go deeper than all of us because there is no risk of it floating with those door seals :D

(watch someone change my words to make a super smart comment) ;)

No, it's a fair point but normally people come on here thinking we have some kind of contractual obligation to give them info and get all shirty when we don't, which isn't very often. There is reams of info on here and nearly always the ones the **** gets taken out of are asking a question that has been asked a million times before and if they could be arsed to read the "read this before you post" bit (which is hard to miss, and is reiterated in an email they get when they join) they would see that!

Also often people get their question answered in the first few posts then the fred degenerates to banter, and they get all shirty and offended about that - it sorts the wheat from the chaff and gives a good member base (cept a few obvious exceptions, not mentioning any names but BOB):D:D:D

Gaylaeneder tend to be the more sensitive type, more in touch with their feminine emotions, so are far more likely to run a mile when they encounter this - it's how it goes!

It's the trattor boys who are the main pests on here. They're just jealous because we get to ride with more comfort than they do.

I suppose I have to agree.... I'm not hard enough and hate getting a wet backside when water gets higher than the door seals. And no I dont risk getting them wet in case the doors fall off (who was that?) besides that would frazzle my CD changer and heated seats. :D :D :D

ps the heated seats are good for my sciatica too ;)

Just seen there was a poll on this thread. I voted the last option, that I don't give a damn. After all, even discodrivers are human so it may be taken as normal that they think they are superior to us, proud and happy Freelander drivers. We all know, and maybe some rare individuals amongst "them" as well, that we drive an as good car as theirs, only smaller. We don't necessarily need to get noticed when passing by, we can live with that and don't need that kind of "confirmation".....:D
