I haven't I'm afraid as didnt really get any time today. All I have is a multimeter, although dc current clamp is around a tenner on eBay, so happy to get one. I agree it would be worth knowing as it's really pulling some juice.Have you done a volt-drop test on the engine ground connection?
Do you have a DC current clamp that will read up to 400A? It'd be interesting to see what the starter is drawing.
This is the you tube clip about 2.7l not starting, not saying that this is the problem but might be interesting
Hard to find I looked for it to send a link before but could not find it, then it came up as a suggesting on you tube today for meAh ok I'll have a look. I did a quick scan of them and watched cambelt video but they have sooo many cheers
Ah very interesting as I put a rag in exhaust and it didn't blow out so I was considering removing downpipe. But no, sadly not sorted yet, but please also keep me informed.I litterally have the exact same problem with my MY07.
I have changed the cambelt
changed the LPFP as it was just delivering 0.4 bar new one delivering 0.7 bar
Checked diesel return volume (not too bad)
Volt under cranking drops to 9v on new battery
I got it started yesterday after fitting new pump but massive ignition knocking and stopped after 5.seconds
I have tried to disconnect the catalytic converter too rule out clogged exhaust but i cant seem to access all the nuts to get it loose.
Any updates on this problem?
I might try to dismantle the exhaust right after the cat and see if it is any flow out of the cat because i cant access the bolts on the turboAh very interesting as I put a rag in exhaust and it didn't blow out so I was considering removing downpipe. Ah ok a bit fidly to get to I suppose. Interested to know anyway. It's also interesting that you had 0.4 bar and it only increased a few psi to make it run. Gunna get me a more accurate low pressure gauge I think as I'm only at about 2psi at the moment.I might try to dismantle the exhaust right after the cat and see if it is any flow out of the cat because i cant access the bolts on the turbo
But does yours smoke?Ah very interesting as I put a rag in exhaust and it didn't blow out so I was considering removing downpipe. But no, sadly not sorted yet, but please also keep me informed.
While cranking you mean? As I have never actually heard mine runBut does yours smoke?
Have you given the crank pulley a prod and poke with a pry bar?I litterally have the exact same problem with my MY07.

I have changed the timingbelt.. and if the crankshaft was broken i would hear it upon cranking i would think?Have you given the crank pulley a prod and poke with a pry bar?
The knock might not be diesel knock!
It has onlu run for me one time.. and you cant hardly call it running... but mine ignites now and then as if it is about to start..Ah ok a bit fidly to get to I suppose. Interested to know anyway. Mmm, that's what mine does...It has onlu run for me one time.. and you cant hardly call it running... but mine ignites now and then as if it is about to start..
I tried a plastic bag in the exhaust after the cat. And it got blown out atleast.. and it smokesMmm, that's what mine does...
That didnt workVideo of crank
