The valve is removable but not servicable unless someone like PF Jones can supply one. TBH, if you can get a HP pump assembly cheap enough, I'd go with that rather than risk getting any grit or muck in the pump, they're built in a NASA-style clean room as the clearances are measured on the same scale as molecules of fuel.

Blimey, ok that'll be why they asked me to get the pump then. Ok thanks.

OK so we have finally got the pump swapped over and it runs 😁 but it seems two injectors are down now too. So will grab a couple of second hand ones on Monday and see where we get to. Getting close anyway.

I'm willing to bet the injectors have failed due to bits of HP pump getting into them, maybe get more than two, just in case?

Yeah I would be inclined to agree. Luckily I have a specialist Disco scrap yard only a few miles away from my house... "Gentlemen of Salvage" very usefull, so if I need more I can just grab them.

I've used them a few times, always decent price and parts in good condition - don't forget new injector washers, Bosch F 00V C17 503 get a bag of ten on fleabay for about the same as one in a LR bag....

It's a sad day it seems.... thought we were nearly there 😔

hi buddy got those injectors in and it started really well considering we remove fuel line but it was only firing 5 and half cylinders . so cylinder 4 and 6 had miss fire . cylinder 4 now firing but six not 100% new fault code of injection timing cylinder 6 . but we had it running for a while and alot of blow bye and developed a knock and now seems tight and wont start easily 🙈

Still chasing this but can anyone tell me if a 2007 disco 3 engine will drop straight into my 2006 one or are fuel pumps and other bits different. It's only because I am thinking of rebuilding the engine in another scrap disco I have and then putting it in my nicer one.
Cheers

Think engine is the same, but fuel equipment incl hpfp and injectors are dfferent?

Yes mate fuel pump, rails and inter linking pipes and wiring loom are different all changes 07 on egrs are different and there is a extra egr coolent link basically strip to block, heads, rocker covers and sump extension all identical, and fit your parts all my injectors 4h2q-3k546 with two letters at the end not sure think it might be a date code my 06, 07 and 09 all have same injector codes apart from last two letters

OK thanks.

No worries mate have done a couple of threads on tdv6 might be a useful pic or two, good on you doing it yourself, serpentine pulleys, exhaust manifolds, turbo, auxiliaries all same mainly fuel system and wiring loom sorry forgot to say that earlier
