Bloody nice work that!

Aye what he said.......schmmoooov magic with the lightning machine, you a fast learner J!

Cheers guys! Just watched a couple yoootube vids and spoke to a couple mates who can weld.

I think whats made it easier is buying quality kit, new regulator has made a huge difference.

Did have my first blow thru but i wasnt paying full attention

LOTS of drilling, countersinking and rivnuting left to do! Along with trying to cut a 1m x 1.25m 3mm ali sheet down to 804mm x 1016mm in a straight line

I want a plasma cutter, just want one.= nuff said.

Hahaha i deffo cannot afford a plasma cutter right now! Ill stick to grinders for the minute :D

Current thinking is using a level clamped down as a guide, then running the grider guard tight against it. Should give me a straight enough cut.

Made some decent progess on the loadspace tray project in between the sunshine and the pub

Got the runners bolted/welded on. Got to say countersinking mild steel to accept a countersunk M8 is a right pig! Went thru 3 bits and two batteries on my Makita  Sinks are not great but they do the job.

X3 coats of Buzzwelds CIO on the frame and fixings. Will be using 2K FXLiner on the top plate.

Annnnd it fits! Perfectly, a little too well tbh  took a while to actually get it in. Runners work brilliantly as well. Very smooth, no catching on pinching.

Still got to drill 10 11mm holes in the boot and fit the extra long rivnuts. The I can bolt the tray down.

Managed to cut the 3mm ali sheet down with a grinder within about 1mm, so its pretty straight and square! Plasma cutter not needed

Cheers dude!

Welding certainly needs work however, did some long bead runs on this and some where good some where shocking  lol

That said all rock solid and wont be seen so its alright for now :)

Tasty!
Q Why do I want it to have a fully equipped BAR and BBQ with drop down legs, flip up and out chairs and a pop up canopy?
A Cos he has only had his welder for a month or so, just imagine in 1 year, will be like the inventor fella from chitty chitty bang bang!:D

Love it ...nice job buddy...

It will have a couple features built in. Like mounts for my chopsaw for site use and lashing points for cargo.

My old man gave me a great idea which I hadnt thought of at all. If I remove the security latches for the tailgate, it means I can have the lid fully loaded with kit and still access the majority of whats in the boot! A big issue when weve been away before.

Glad you like it! Came to mind a few years ago but taken this long to get the confidence to actually build it. Really pleased with how its come out so far.

LOL I FOOKING KNEW IT!!!!!!!!! ooooo tell me the bed lid doubles as an extractor....:p:p:p

I have a monster green submarine in the garden, (2000 Lpg tank) so i fitted a BBQ take off on the side of the house, no more bottles!

And my slide out tray project is done!

Works exactly as intended, fits perfectly too. Rivnuts holding it to the tub floor have screwed me a bit. I may have to remove the chequer plate liner then nut and bolt it in place for some extrs security.

Otherwise all went quite well.

Finished coat is Buzzwelds 2K FXLiner which can happily cure properly over night.

Jumped up and down at full extension not a drop of movement in it!
