Yeah that sounds about right I think. The tyres are bloody chunky and do feel very large and heavy in comparison to my 265 Coopers on my 90.

Spent the day going over the 110, not been underneath yet, but I can't find anything at all wrong with it, bar the difflock light doesn't illuminate but the difflock does work far as I can tell. So I am very happy indeed! What I did love is I was able to swap the headunits over in 10 minutes flat with no extra cables or tarting around! Got a cheapo Pioneer unit which has Android Play which is just great for £37!



Since there is so much space under the rear seats I am going to use it to make a storage box to keep all my recovery gear, some tools and a few other bits, though just got to work out how to make one...

Also pulled off the turbo heat shield, did have to drill and grind... just to double check no blowing on the manifold, all clean!

Did LR change the fuel cooler design after 2002? As my 02 90 has a much larger cylindrical fuel cooler



My Terrafirma RTC Damper arrived too, anyone else fit one? Got any tips?

The intercooler is bigger and lighter than the one that was in my 90. Can't wait to get it all fitted, TD5Inside turbo is on the way as well! Mapping is booked for late Dec/early Jan.

Test fitted one of the new wheels, the fit, just about! While I have gained just over an inch in ground clearance, looks like I have lost a fair bit in articulation! Suspension may have to be changed... Was thinking Terrafirma medium load springs coupled with Terrafirma big bore +2 shocks. The regular medium load kit has given an excellent ride on my 90 while only raising it just under and inch from standard.

Friday was bloody hectic! Not to mention I got stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam 15 minutes from home because some cock end in a Range Rover decided it would be a good idea to veer across 3 lanes with a TRAILER into the fast lane and subsequently crash...

So I managed to get the EGR blanked, shocking that was a lot easier than my 90, no sheered bolts and everything came off easily. EGR Cooler also removed and blanked where required.

Alloys & the spacers have been fitted and properly torqued up, they do look amazing! They really fill out the arches very nicely. Though due to the size of the tyres while I have gained about 1.2" in ground clearance I've lost some articulation on the front so suspension will be swapped out next year. Not for a lift kit but to refresh it all.

Slickshift is fitted, spent about 30 minutes precisely adjusting the bias springs getting is a perfect as I could. Much better now!



The new door weather seals arrived so fitted them as well.

I did attempt to start replacing the exhaust but I could not for the life of me get the down pipe bolts off the turbo!

I'll get some more proper pictures tonight now its actually back together and driveable!

Tonight I will probably fit the Terrafirma RTC damper, Allisport mid box and begin making the Cordura loadspace cover.

Also after the results of this thread, where I wanted to retro fit the brackets which allow the rear seats to be folded forward/locked back, it doesnt look to be financially feasible. Considering buying the parts separately will come to around £500 - £600! Then im not 100% certain I will even be able to fit them properly. The other option was the locking system fitted to the old 110s but on some research these just do not look safe, being what looks like a pretty feable metal catch. Anyone know if the locking mech from another car could be retro fitted? Seems such a shame to waste all that space!

So instead of an underseat storage box, I am looking into seeing if I can build a drawer system that would be accessed from the front but still under the seats. I think I could use of those 'Really Useful' storage boxes with some runners bolted onto the bottom, they arnt the strongest boxes ever but they should be good enough. Then bolt the runners to the floor.

Last night made myself a Cordura cover to fit over the pick up/load space. I wasn't spending £500+ on a proper one when im after the locking ali one next year. For the grand total of £50 and about 2 hours work it aint bad at all!

Also fitted the Wipac LED Indicators and the LED side lights, shall do the brake lights, fog & reverse tonight.

After some measuring as well it looks like I should be able to fit a 20L 'Really Useful' storage box underneath the rear seats!

Actually managed to get a bit of proper work done last night. Started on swapping the exhaust over, which would need doing regardless when I saw the state of some of it! No holes or blowing but the flanges where rusted to bits! The nuts on the midbox - back box where non existent just rusted points. Out came the grinder, took a while grinding, hammering, swearing and more hammering and it came off. Allisport bullet box fitted in its place. Had another go at the turbo/downpipe bolts seized solid even after a few days of Plusgas.

And off! You can just about see the poor state of the flange

Little bit of re-wiring and all the LEDs are fitted, all work bar the reverse light, got to investigate that tonight... Swapped over the side repeaters for amber ones too, just didnt like the clear, though I may swap them out for the smoked LED ones which look pretty cool.

Attempted to fit the Terrafirma RTC Damper, all went well until I tightened up the hex bolts on the spring collar CRACK and it snapped :rolleyes: applied barely any torque, though free replacement on the way. Currently fitted without the RTC spring which should be fine...

Second failure of the night fitting my Corbeaus. Drivers seat in the 110 came out no problems, passenger seat however not so much! Both the retaining bolts at the rear just spin :confused: Luckily it was booked in at Gigglepin today for a good once over so having them replace them :)

Drivers seat looks good though! Matched with my old steering wheel (which I may wheel change for a Momo Nero) it is very comfy, I can slide the seat SO much further back and reclining more, no more sitting bolt up right! Took a while to get used to this modicum of comfort though!

Hopefully the 110 comes back to me tonight with no major issues and I can continue fitting the other bits!

Got to remove the heated seat wiring loom from the 90 which I am dreading. I'd wired everything into one big loom and spiral wrapped it so I've got the joy of removing all that to get it out! Can't find Corbeau heated seat looms for sale else where and it is not plug and play with the LR loom. I could make up a loom and splice it with the LR Loom but i'd rather not as the Corbeaus are two stage heated where as the LR seats are 1 stage. However I will keep the LR loom in place and eventually re-route that to for heated rear seats!

One thing I did notice today, is the temp gauge didnt move the the middle, it sat just over a 1/3rd of the way - 30 minute drive from cold, motorway and country lanes - My 90 always sat bang in the middle. When I pulled up, plugged in the Nanocom which gave me 87.3c which as far as I know is about right. Just wondering why the gauge wasnt central?
 
Cheers guys! Much more work to do! Got it back from Gigglepin last night after having a health check, cost me £50 but worth doing, shows up problems i've missed. Nothing too major though -

Rear shocks are on the way out - Terrafirma +2 Big Bore en route - Eventually the whole lot will be replace with big bore shocks & medium load springs
- The shock mounts are a little corroded but they don't look too bad.
Chassis/Bulkhead corrosion - No holes and no major damage but enough to keep an eye on it.
- Booked in with CSK for a full underside clean and Dintrol, will have them fill the bulkhead as well
Exhaust is badly corroded but not blowing
- All being replaced anyway, bar the rear back box which I will clean up with the grinder, main corrosion is around the flange
Fuel Filter Head/Housing - Damp with fuel
- Looking around they are around £100 for a standard one + filter, where as there is a billet aluminium hard anodized unit for £100. Ill go for that I think.
All hinges have play
- Not overly concerned as all the doors open and close very well. If that changes I will consider changing them
Rear drive shafts & flanges worn but not seriously
- New L/R + flanges £85.00 can't really argue at that price. I'll keep the old ones just in case but that is too cheap to pass up. + with the Bowler alloys a couple minutes to fit.

Overall not too bad, some of it was being replaced anyway, just sooner than I expected. Will just work through it like I did on my 90, takes a while but I always learn something new. This time it will be how to replace a fuel filter head...

More positive news! Both Corbeaus are fitted and SO comfortable, a considerable difference to my 90, just being able to recline and slider back fully is a godsend, being 6'4" it is welcome! Though the big ole rivnuts LR use to secure the seat rails have failed at the rear so the rails are nut and bolted in place. Secure but annoying. As if I need to get to the battery it involves removing the cubby box and undoing 6 slightly awkward bolts on the seat rails/subframe removing the seat that way. Lets hope I don't need a jump start anytime soon!



Tried again last night to remove the downpipe. It just will not budge. Tried Plusgas, heat, brute force, hammer. Nothing.

Current thinking is, since I am going to fit a new turbo, I am going to try the Turbo/Manifold bolts see if they will move, then cut the downpipe with a grinder where I can reach it (I have a spare incase of MOT issues). If not then its manifold off, cut the down pipe. Refit the whole lot with a new manifold & Wurth studs.

haha They have come down in price since I bought them, but they are worth every penny. Very comfortable, often do long drives to France, Wales, Somerset, never uncomfortable in them, really hold you in when off road too + the heating lovely in winter!

If you check ebay I think a brand called Bad Boy BB6 are Corbeau replicas, not sat in them myself but havnt heard anything bad about them, last I saw they where about £350 a pair..
 
Ran a set of mk1 Impreza wrx seats for the past 5 years or so in my old disco's.
Just upgraded to rx8 seats that I'm gonna fit in my new d1 commercial. Hoping to get the electrics and seat heaters working for a bit of posh comfort.
Not a nice as your seats but at least if I ruin these in a mud bog I won't feel so bad about the £90 I spent buying them lol
 
They are meant to be good seats! I've got some pretty hefty seat covers which go on at the slightest sign of mud! Had them in my 90 for 18 months seats stayed clean.

Tonights en devour is to remove the Corbeau loom from the 90, put the XS seats together and fitted in the 90, then tidy everything up. After that 90 is to be locked up tight out the way until I get the headlining recovered and properly get it up for sale.

As well as continually soaking the 110 Manifold in Plusgas, going to try my hardest not to snap any studs, workshop manual states they are tightened to 25nm so my idea was to set my torque wrench to 12nm try to un do each one while Plus gassing after, slowly moving up to 25nm. The idea being a little smooth force a lot of the time instead of jerking brute force.
 
Cheers dude! Yeah not cheap but worth it :cool: tbf in comparison to what some of my mates spend on Jap cars they are cheap! :eek:

Got home from work a little early today so got cracking stripping out the heated seat loom. It was MUCH easier than I expected! I forgot the heated seats where one of the last things I wired in so came out pretty easily! :)
