Got quite a bit done today! Plus a few bits arrived in the post!

Corbeaus are fully fitted and wired in, wired in much easier and neater than in the 90, took far less time that I thought. Though the switches arnt fully wired in, i.e the red 'on' light doesnt illuminate nor does the sidelight/nightlight, mainly I couldnt be bothered as the proper wiring will be done when the dash is swapped at some point next year, didnt see the point in wasting all that time. Ive got 2-stage hot seats and im happy.

Really is SO SO SO much nicer wiring things in when it is just the neat untouched LR wiring, so easy -


Gen Carling switches nestled in the TD5 console -


I have noticed MUD UK are selling newer Contura II switches, every connector is there, i.e there are 10 spade connectors on the rear, last time I bought some on-off-on switches there where only 4 or 5 I think. Good I guess, can use the switch for more...

New de-webbed, de-stressed and machined flat manifold, complete with all gaskets & EGR blank, not bad for £160, to be fitted with Wurth Studs, should keep warping at bay without the £700 Allisport price tag...




Provent 200 arrived too, this thing is very well made and very well designed, almost too good for a Landy!


This will be fitted when I fit the Allisport intercooler, though not 100% what to do with the drain. I'm not sold on the idea of tapping the sump for the oil return, nor am I sold on the idea of tapping into the turbo oil return. So what I may do is fit a catch can below it that or have the oil run into the chassis for some light protection :rolleyes:

Also rained pretty hard last night, low and behold my home made £50 load space cover worked a treat! Bone dry underneath, proud of that.

I much prefer the amber/clear lights as well, just looks more ':Land Rover' if you get me?

Also had a chance to properly test out the Lightforce spots, bugger me sideways are the good! Properly light up the whole road in a good solid directional fashion, going down some pitch blank country lanes im sure I could see at least 500m ahead of me. IF they fit the new bumper next year I may well keep them!

With any luck the Terrafirma Big Bore shocks should arrive tomorrow, I'll get those fitted over the weekend. Along with more attempts to fit the bloody decat pipe....

Really loving the 110 more and more every day, though I am REALLY missing the 90s power! :(:(:( Not long to wait though!!! TD5inside/CRTurbo should arrive in the next few days :D:D:D:D

Decat is fitted!! Kind of... had to cut the old downpipe off, that took a couple hours, 4 1mm discs and one 3mm disc



Been soaking the Turbo/Manifold bolts twice a day for a few days in Plus gas, they came off! Kind off. One came out fine, the other two sheered, one flush, one half way. A tad annoying, either I wait for the new turbo to arrive or try and remove the studs and refit.



All off!


Allisport hose in too, because why not?


I am going to leave the manifold where it is, im cutrently too worried about sheering the studs, it isnt blowing from anywhere, so why test fate? Ive got the new one + studs ready to fit if/when it does blow/warp.

Good news is zero rust under the central x member so that is a bloody relife!

New speakers arrived too! Infinity with external tweeters, £50 brand new and apparently excellent. Tweeters will go up on the soft dash.

Liking the wheels, def tempted to get a set for mine. I cut my tweeters into the dash with a hole saw, looks semi professional
 
New collar for the RTC Damper arrived so thats now properly fitted -



Once the new hybrid turbo is fitted im going to keep the boost low until the intercooler and various hoses are fitted, with any luck next weekend.
 
Infinity Reference speakers were always excellent back in the day, ran them on many of my chavved up boy racer cars :D

Might have to get a set for the disco once it's on the road
 
Haha well they are damn good speakers! What I didnt know is Infinity is a subsidary of Harmon Kardon, all built in the same place just a much lower price tag!

Got them fitted today, they sound great! Massive improvment, just need to get the 6x9s in the back and an Alpine/JBL sub. Though thesw will do for now!




Very happy with the install, looks almost factory. Just got to wait for the MUD spacer rings.
 
Been thinking about the Provent 200 install today and how to go about it. Let me know if this sounds about right

Provent mounted on the left of engine where the lift hooks are
Silicone 25mm to 19mm reducer - clamped in place
(Outlet) Braided PVC 19mm hose to DCV
(Inlet) Braided PVC 19mm hose to Rocker Cover
Braided PVC 12mm hose on Provent Oil Return with aluminium one way valve
Braided PVC 12mm hose from one way valve to where ever - I have decided to run some 12mm hose to the bottom of the chassis with a tap, then drain the oil once a month or so. I know its not ideal but just really do not like the idea of tapping into any of the LR bits to return it to the sump.

That said where can be tapped into to return the oil on the left of the engine should I decide to do it in the future?
 
Cheers. They do yes, I was hoping to be able just to enlarge the hole but alas not possible with the AC there, should be fine on a non AC dash tho.

Plus should make for a slightly neater install.
 
TF Big Bores arrived, they are bloody huge! Should give a great ride!



New rear shafts and flange arrived to. In the dreaded blue box...


Anyone used em before? Far as I can tell they look pretty decent quality. The flanges look identical to the Bearmach ones on my 90 and they have lasted well.
 
Very productive evening last night! Since the landy is out of action until the turbo arrives I thought I'd get cracking with the rear shocks. Remarkably easy to do, a lot easier than when I did my 90, not sure if its that I had done it before or that it was just easier. Even the suspension cups came off with just a chisel no grinder or drilling required!

While the wheels where off decided to fit the new half shafts and flanges, none sheered, none broke either way new bolts arriving today -

New shaft in, greased the end very well


Also fitted the MUD Spacer rings, they are ok but the design could be better to give a more flush factor appearance. The will do fine for now but I think i'll look for something else.



Good news as well! Turbo should arrive Thursday/Friday so Ill get that fitted soon as!

As for the oil thingy - could you get a sump off eBay or something and get a fabrication shop to make you a nice angled return with a small baffle welded inside or something?

There was a simialr mod the army did to their 2.5na defenders with a return on the sump - it was a right angle curve Ito the sump with a support bracket welded on the outside, then inside it had a small baffle (presumably to stop oil slipping up the pipe?)

Shouldn't cost much and would make a nice neat finish. Get it tapped into the back of the sump?
 
Possible idea yeah! Ill look into that! Just nervous about creating more leaks in a landy than already are!
