Haha yeah guna blow it out with the compressor!

It is lovely working there, everyone is very nice and helpful!

So came up with an idea to improve my heater to a more modern standard rather than just "a bit" and "full blast" (which is a lil weak compared to my old one)

Plan is to fit s 12v bilge blower after the LR blower to force more air in, wired into the LR blower controls for easy control.

Then fit this (lil more research needed tho) so I can have a smoother more variable control of the fan speed.

Will of course check and adjust if needed the current heater controls.

Final addition is the the Defender vent2.0 which I got for a very good price. Should mean i can adjust the top vents more and should have demisted side windows!

Just turn the standard lower foot vents upside down and it demists your side windows (you might have to swap them over as well - can't remember)

Off today so got on with something ive been meaning to do for about a year.

TC OFF switch!

Super simple.
Pulled the ABS/TC fuse.
Replaced with some cable and connectors + an inline fuse.
Connected to the Carling switch.

He presto TC off switch. Not sure why PACE4X4 are charging £150 for one, mine cost £15. Would be £2 if you went for a toggle instead of a Carling.

Only annoying thing is I have the EU Carling so ON is down, think ill swap it to a US one where ON is up. So it sits better on the pod. Just me being obsessive.

What is a tad annoying is the red slit. When wired up as per the Carling wiring diagram its illumjnated constantly so not sure how to rewire it to be illuminated when the TC is turned off. If thats even possible but im just nit picking.

So with a bit of cutting and shamefully some gorilla tape I got the bilge blower installed. Not my neatest work but I had minimal tools and materials! Hey it works!

Yes they are tights as an air filter :D

Its wired into the LR blower motor so functions on the two speeds. Speed 1 has about a 40% increase in air flow speed 2 has 50%+ at least.

Should help a fair bit when the DefenderVents go in!

TC off switch tested and works better than I expected. Looks like I dont need to cycle the engine in order to reactivate the TC/ABS.

Best of all the red slit now comes on when the TC is deactivated :D

(Video is done with the handbrake off to show the error lights)

Quite happy with todays work!

Hoping to get my project thread moving soon but mine is showing me its identity before I can even enjoy it haha I enjoy how cub you have made it comfortable but yet still get stuck in

Bit of feedback on the blower upgrade.

Bloody fantastic! SO much more flow and the heat output is still very good. On high the whole cab is warmed up very very quickly. Low is perfect for some good heat as well. Noise is only slightly more than before on high.

For £20 an an hours work its a great mod.

To save me scrolling back a few pages, what is that coating on your wing top tread plates?

X3 coats of Raptor (with black silica zand for grip) over black powder coat.

That was the full intention from the start. I cant stand people who buy things and then dont use them for their intended purpose!
