nothing like the smell of fresh rubber , did they pick on the smallest guy to fit the tyres, lol

looks smart , if i read in the news shopper “ local main does snow dance “ , we will know who it was ;)

i normally go to setyres in crawford

PS, who done the white writing on the tyres or did they come like that, lol
Hahahaha that or "local man destroys highstreet with runaway tyres" lol

They come as standard with the white writing! Looks nice ay!

Haha I wasn't very popular at my local place when I rocked up at 45mins to closing time :D the new tyres had been stacked for ages as well so they didn't half struggle
Glad you're happy with em, be good to see how they fare with your offroading :D

Not this time! But close, the guy had onlg started a few months ago, helped him out a bit as his sockets wouldnt fit in the Bowlers! Also got confused as to why the locking wheel nut cover kept spinning :rolleyes:

While I was prepping the boot lid for a respray I thought I'd get on with the reverse/diff lock switches while its laid up.

All sanded back, re-keyed and properly cleaned! Plus masked off bloody everything as Raptor goes bloody everywhere!

Could not get to either switch at all from underneath and removing my cubby inspection panel is a nightmare due to all the cable running into it! So the tranny tunnel had to come off, wasn't looking forward to doing it but surprisingly came off quiet easy! Though 3 of the mounting points on the drivers side are cracked :(

Can see why the switch stopped working!

Annoyingly the difflock switch and new stainless screws + mounts havnt arrived yet! I'm away for a week on Weds then I need my landy back every day for 3 weeks! Will be fun putting it all back together jet lagged o_O:rolleyes::rolleyes:

With any luck they will arrive on Mon/Tues! It'll be the first time in Landy ownership where all the dash lights work! Handbrake, ABS, TC, Difflock, the lot! :D:D (or so he says until next time :rolleyes:)

First two coats of Raptor on! Managed to cheat a little bit... Re-coat time is around an hour at 20C annoyingly Raptor starts to harden in the bottle at around an hour at 20C, though only need half a bottle to cover the boot lid! Slight predicament...

Solution! :) Cranked up the heat in the garage then left the Raptor bottle outside in some cold water, vigorously shook it up every now and then. Hey presto! Bottled Raptor remained a completely liquid and the boot lid was bone dry in 45 mins! So managed to get two coats from one bottle which was bonus :D

Looking much better already, though the masking tape didnt hold quite as well as the 3M stuff (from now one not using anything else! The green masking tape is 'Frog Tape')

Give it a good hour and I'll get the third a final coat on. With any luck it'll last, my prep was a lot more intense this time so should work, also let the Acid Etch sit for 24hours at around 20C before spray the Raptor on.

Haha im very lucky! One of the perks of still living at home I suppose!! Trying ti get any "big" jobs done before I move out!

Tell ya its very hard to find a house with a landy friendly garage!! o_Oo_O

Don’t blame u one bit and very true ref the garages and the restricted height

there’s me , next week having to replace my struts in the freezing cold, while someone sits in a heated garage sipping tea, ;);):p:p:D:D

please , please what ever u do , don’t say it’s underfloor heating , otherwise the northerners will think us down south are softy’s , lol

Yep! Thats how all the work on my 90 was done! In the cold rain on the drive!

Just good ole rads! Haha

Just waiting for the Raptor to dry and the final coat will go on! I'll leave it to sit till tomorrow then remove all the masking.

Also just thought! While the tranny tunnel is off I may go for a short drive see if I can capture this odd tranny noise on video! Maybe finally find out what the hell it is or at least where its coming from....

Well, you are ! :p

@bankz5152 - nice to see you keeping this bus in good order :) What are those tyres like at motorway speeds ? - notice they do them in 245/70R16 - which would fit me D1....

( need to get rid of the poxy Michelin Latitude Cross that are on it - so called as, in the bad weather, all they do is make you cross as you slide about all over the damn place :mad::mad: )

ur more than welcome , know what it’s like trying to find a noise when driving , then see a bleeding hedge coming towards u ,

don’t worry i will be busy for a few weeks so won’t be going anywhere , if u need a hand just send me a pm and can send over my number and address

You and your excuses - here's me wanting some insight  pah! and now you're going away ????:rolleyes:

:D

Yup! Only a week mind you !

I swapped because the STT Pros, while a fantastic tyre, where rather noisey above 30 and gave a fair bit of vibration above 60. That and I dont do as much proper mud plugging as I did in me 90!

So the ST Maxxs should suit me far better! Soon as I get it out on the Mway ill let ya know! Around 40/50 they are much better!

LOL I only use the green frog stuff for bolt threads now, and inside masking of holes its weird stuff comes in a tub, must be a odd adhesive sticks to some things but not others.....
