I've decided to adjust the air intake system on the 110. The standard system is just utter shi te, very simple though. Bought some 3" induction pipe and some jubilee clips. If my measurements are correct the new pipe should attach directly onto the first bend in the air box, from there it will run to the standard place on the wing but straighter, wider, less kinks and less joints. It should improve airflow a tad and make the system a little more water resistant.

Also considering an air box like this for the future. Twin intakes, for twin Southdown snorkels, thing is its £350! I think I could make my own from a standard TD5 air box for considerably less!

:(:(:( Looks like my A/C is cr ap as everyone says! Was re-gassed, ice cold and brilliant, until I tried to use it today! It's about as cold as the air coming through the ventso_O

I guess it's time to save up some cash and get the entire system diagnosed.... I know the condenser is pretty shagged and with a light touch the fins fall off! Though the fan does work 100% tested twice via the Nanocom. Am I to assume there is a leak in the system somewhere?

So uploading through the forum now! Takes a little longer but overall safer!

Changed the induction system on the 110 for a seamless 3" pipe running direct to the wing intake, sealed up the air filter housing in preparation for a snorkel too.

Fair few holes in the filter housing!

Don't worry I sealed up the big drain hole with a crushed bottle cap and tones of sealant.

Had to cut it an an angle in order for it to fit behind the standard mesh grill, while keeping it 3" wide. For the time being its cable tied to the mesh. Also ran into another issue, because its an XS I have the slightly fancier extenable antenna, which fouls the new intake. So thats been removed and waiting to fit a windscreen antenna.

As you can see an enormous improvement in diameter. Result? Much less lag for the cost of £10 and an hours work.

Edit - Not overly happy with these giant images, any way to scale them down?

Finally got around to doing something I've been planning since I bought the 110! Upgrading the heater intake. At some point in its life the original heater died and has been replaced. Only issue is who ever replaced it didnt quite fit it right so the heater does not line up in any way with the plastic intake system.

Thats been removed and replaced with some 110mm ducting and some draining pipe (shockingly the exact right diameter! Run direct from the heater to the intake on the wing, used an old pair of the mrs tights as a "filter" just to stop leaves and bugs flying into the heater fan.

Neatly tucked away! Only issue is I've got to find a better adhesive (or another method) to secure it to the heater box. It's fine for now but the second I go off road I know it will fall off. As for water ingress or anything like that theres a snowcowl fitted which should stop the majority, if not the drainage pipe is angled up so anything that gets it should fall to the bottom and miss the heater fan.

Added bonus, the heater no longer smells terrible when turned on and the fan speed is slightly improved! All for £12 :)

Day off! So got a couple small things done.

Hard wired the dash cam into the 12v socket so no more wires hanging down the windscreen!

And fixed me dads RR, boost hose had split and gone rock solid. All done now and no longer rolling coal!

Saw a few pics of a fella that made the Naka arm rest for the Defender, I just cant spend £100 on a pair of them. Just far too expensive considering what it is!

Bought some 1mm aliuminium, some 2mm neoprene foam and some pleather. All for about £22 and should be able to make a pair myself!

Lil shopping today, bought the final bits I need to start swapping the centre console over

Raptor Centre Console Plate - Custom Cut
Kenwood DDX5016DBA Headunit & Aerial
Cisbo Parking Sensors
Decent looking IR reverse camera
Carling Leccy Window Switches!

Also got a new steering wheel as mine is very worn and im sick of the deep dish and not being able to reach the indicators! Went for a nice looking Sparco 373 350mm flat wheel, should match the XS interior quite nicely.

The ali arrived for the elbow rest, sadly they sent it too small  Larger sheets en route.

Double din arrived! It's very pretty but the cage that came with it does not fit the Raptor console :confused::confused::mad: Ordered a new cage which is apparently the same size but it may not allow me to fit the fascia surround o_Oo_O

Tad annoyed.

That said sorted out my snorkel dilemma! Going to buy an MOD Mushroom top style metal snorkel then weld a piece of 3" pipe to it, which will connect easily to my current intake! No damage, no drilling and a more secure seal!

Got a few little bits done over the weekend.

Made up a 'spacer' for my voltmeter as Raptor cut a hole the size of the whole thing, instead of the size of the mount... Tad annoying but actually looks better flush! At the same time I had to enlarged the double din cut out as it was about 2mm too small on each edge for a normal double din again very annoying but I managed to sort it.

Ugly but it works

Also made an elbow rest! Based off the Nakatanenga one, £25 in bits 2 hours work.

Shamelessly used a hammer and the door card as a 'mould' to get the shape as close as possible

Decided to trim it in Alcantara instead of leather as leather gets hot and sweaty, probably wouldnt be the most comfortable!

Unlike the Naka one I extended the foam soft bits over the window channel bit for my comfort, fits well and looks pretty good if you ask me!

Also got a new Sparco steering wheel as the OMP one was very worn and I was getting sick of the deep dish. So flat dish suede Sparco wheel! Gives so much more space and my driving position is vastly improved. Plus continues the nice black and stainless motif :)
