Finally properly clean after Salisbury the other week and ready to show off on the Empire Tuning stand at The Billing Land Rover Show :D:D

Mounting points welded on.

X3 Tabs at the top and x4 A2 M8 studs at the bottom. Will be secured with A2 M8 Form G washers + Nylocs.

X3 coats of Buzzwelds Acid Etch
X3 coats of Buzzwelds CIO for a nice solid matt finish.

Should last a life time.

Will let cure for 24 hours then fit!

Got some blanks for the existing mounting holes.

At somepoint I will strip and respray the surround as thats certainly seen better days!!

When I first fit my snorkel I went off roading in salisbury, i noticed when i got back my air filter was a bit damp due to the water splashing over and the induction sucking water in.

Yes i could slow down but thats boring so I got some silicone hose and punched a few holes in it. Greatly reduces any water ingress.

Today while bored made a lil upgrade for it for extremley dusty environments.

Cut up an old pipercross filter that sits snug inside. Probably will reduce airflow but will massively reduce dust ingress having two filters!

For use in the very dry salisbury days and when travelling through the Spanish dort roads!

Seems to happen to me every now and then. Steering judder about 45-50mph that I can never pin down 100%.

So new Gywn Lewis HD TREs
New Poly steering damper bushes - mine look a bit old now
New Superpro front ARB bushes - the 90p britpart ons where never going to last!

So far LH/RH wheel bearings have been replaced in the last 5k, Timken of course.

Cant feel any play in the swivel bearings. Replaced with Timken maybe 25k ago. Should still be fine.

Yet to check Radius/Trailing arm bushes. They are a mix of FloFlex and gen LR last done maybe 45k ago so could be that!

After an unfortunate incident on Monday the 110s been off the road.

Spent the week collecting new parts ready to repair!

Front wing was heavily damaged as with the chequer plate. Shockingly the wheel arch survived along with the lights.

Stripped off. Took a while given the roll cage

New wing sanded back and painted Epsom Green with Buzzweld basecoat then Upol ClearCoat

Spent an hour putting all the rivnuts back in and marking out for the cage, arch, chequer plate. Which I managed to repair as well!

All done, bar the arch. Need some new bolts.

Came out really well I think. Also changed the drivers CV joint and rear output flange and seal and ABS sensor. Unrelated to the incident.

Not a productive morning! Aim was to change the fuel pump today as its rather noisy and slow to start.

Cut the big hole in the right place but cut the wires too :rolleyes:

Locking ring is seized solid. Ordered the spanner to aid removal

Only to find out the VDO fuel pump does not come with a bloody seal! Everyonez out of stock so off to the main dealer to order one ffs

Is all that fuel from the top of the tank fitting or the hoses ?

Oh no its brake cleaner and plus gas!

On the plus side replaced one wheel bearing, adjusted the other 3.

Replaced the brake master + fluid change. 75k later it was showing signs of wear:rolleyes:

Inspection hatch is in for the FP, just awaiting delivery of parts from the Stealer.

Downside a simple oil change has take 2 hours. Stripped thread on the rotor housing  no biggy but took 30 mins to get a nut underneath!

Also somehow strapped the bloody sump thread!!! So ordered an M17x1.5 tap and appropriate plug. Not ideal!!!

Tomorrow finish the service, road test and hopefully get onto my new headliner

Also realised today the 110 has covered 165km, 80km of that is just me in the past 4 years!

Who said Defenders where unreliable? When every part has been replaced and coming up to be replaced a second time :D:p

Thank you! Means alot. I do love it so much but it does frustrate me! Currently on stands in garage awaiting yet more undue repairs, suffer for the love I guess

One of my tasks was to change the brake master, just trying to eliminate some brake issues.

Fitted, bled. Solid pedal. Removed it, checked it, pressure bled it. Same.

Put the old one back on, perfect.

Brand new G rated TRW/Lucas part not fit for purpose

So funnily enough i was looking thru posts and threads about my brake issue. Found one, I started 4 years ago. With the same issue :p:rolleyes:

Its the brake master
