Wired into the high beam switch and a carling switch. Very happy 😍

Suspension is on the way :D

Same set up as before, couldnt fault it in anyway. Excellent flex, excellent ride.

Had the OME Springs in the garage for a couple months, this was a "risk" as I did spend a huge amount of time researching the spring rates for the old 110. Bought the same ones again.

The fronts identical to the old one only difference is the rear being a DCPU vs a CSW, cant be that much difference surely!

If interested its

Front Springs OME2767
Rear Springs OME2755

It sat very level and gave a very good ride.

Old pans off. Axles begun cleaning.

Forgot a few pics but the HD weld on pan isnt quite as straight forward as its made out to be!

Given the original is circular and the new is a sort of hexagon shape, tricky to line up correctly. So much so I found the right hard drive mount for the panhard rod had to be modified, bu modified i mean cut off a bit πŸ˜…πŸ˜… so the new pan could sit more central.

Took a fair bit of fettling as well to get a good fit up. Definitely would not suggest doing this on car even if youre an experienced fabricator!

Going to look at drawing up a truss kit for the long side because why not 🀣

Wont be fitting this for a while.
Plan is to shot blast this one, repaint, get the swivel balls fitted, ATB fitted. Then transfer over my current hubs but new swivel bearings.

Do the military do an updated diff pan?

Still like your builds. Write ups are great because even if there is a problem you tell us and possibly how to get round it.

Think some military axles had thicker pans and heavy trussing but rather rare.

Thanks 😊

Welded 😁

Interested as to why the diff fill/level plug is lower? (or seems)

Nice work though, I enjoy your updates keep em coming :).

Tbf hadnt noticed the diff plug but it does look lower so.will look again tomorrow πŸ˜…

It is a little wider and sticks out a little further and more of a dome shape rather than the pressed one from LR. So I expect it will actually hold a little more oil! Ill measure when I fill it up.

Funnily enough I weighed an old wrap around diff guard. Came in at 5.6kg. This is 4kg so actually a bit lighter!!

Busy day. Dampers, springs, turrets, retainers, spring clamps all fitted!

When shockingly πŸ˜… smoothly. All done in about 6 hours.

Serviced it as well.

Shock turrets drawn, laser cut, CNC bent and Mig welded by me :D

Also fitted the RRC spring isolators on the front and the rubber wrap arounds on the rear.

Along with the HD spring retainers. 6mm mild, with bent tabs on the end.

Stainless door threshes, designed, cut and folded by yours truly.

If anyone would like a set more than happy to do a run, be cheaper than anyone else online. Can even provide fixings.

2mm brushed stainless, secured with carraige bolts using the original fixing holes.

So quick look over to check the suspension has all settled...

It was fine on Sunday i swear 🀣

Sadly my favourite company GORE no longer trade and Pioneer4x4 have a silly lead time. So in a very unlike me move OEM it is.

20240328_142720.jpg

Β£147 later. Utterly ridiculous for some awful cast ali!?

The GORE unit was designed and CNC machined IN THE UK for less that Β£100. How this crap from wherever can be more is beyond me.

Alas sorted.

Same for the alternator oil feed. Genuine Β£100+ braided stainless from Pioneer4x4? Β£44

No brainer.
