It certainly bolts straight on but my raised spare wheel holder is cut away on one side to allow for the wiper. The arm is more curved on the D2. I've never had it fitted with a standard holder.
 
I had the same problem. I to had to cut away the spare wheel holder. But yes it is a straight swap. You will have to decide if you want the D1 or D2 or both of the washer jets working. Seeing that I had my roof lining down at the time it was very easy for me to connect up the D2 washer jets. All I used was fishing aquarium tubing and connectors.
 
Hmmm good info there cheers lads. I shall have to keep an eye out for a D2 in the local breakers.
Also think I'm gonna paint my boot door card black like yours, looks much better. Want the bonnet checker plate too but it's so bloody expensive!
