Digs aside I do feel for you, particularly in your current health, I just wish I could offer you something other than mirth.
Plenty good hands here for practical support, it's not like your typing into the Chevy UK forum or any such miserable thang, you can wait days there just for a single comma.
Or the Jag forum, you ask a technical question and get a reply stating the best polish or shampoo to use.

Another question about my diaphragm... I think I may have damaged (ruined) it by accident :(

I plugged my 1st pipe in there, believing it was one of the valves for one of the air bags!

Would that have killed it?

oooooooo no doo .bit late but i would not change stored values till its got pressure and is standing on its own ,the numbers ie values on height sensors are not all the same

There were actual values and ones you could change from low to high so I merely evened them out a bit. I did first play with the actual values to see if my valves were operating, they were as I felt each corner drop as I clicked on the box. An awesome bit of software, so I am confident that once I replace the diaphragm that I'll be able to set her up just right if I have made an arse of things.

I went on the bay and spent forty quid to buy not only a valve kit, but a replacement pistons seal kit, filter and also a barrel (cylinder) after taking on board what you said ;)

Don't worry, it's a petrol tratter, she'll be fine :D

for resetting the heights you'll need some blocks but first you need to sort you air supply, have you been into the block? did you fit the little spring back in with the diagram? If not it won't seal and will vent the air, take of the silencer and while the pump is running put your finger over the exhaust hole. If there is air then you've got a problem at the diagphram and it could just be venting the air out of the block! Vehicle moved fault can be ignored!

Just because the values are the same doesn't mean the heights will be equal, hope you recorded the original values before you played.

the heights can be seen to with calibration you can make. Mine had a sensor something like 20 bits different to its opposite side and that was when it was on the setting blocks!! I wrote it to memory and it all sits fine. Air supply then heights last.. I hope you did write them down??

I didn't write them down, but they were only a few bits out and I can pretty much remember most, if not all the values.

As for the diaphragm, I never took anything out. I'm planning to take the block out today or tomorrow so it's ready when the kit arrives. I inserted a pipe into that hole (it has a pink rubber band round it) by mistake the first time round and blew air through it, so I imagine I've knackered the diaphragm. Ahh well, you learn as too go along cocking things up

20 bits at the back you might get away with if you're in the middle of acceptable range but fronts should be no more than 5 bits apart.
I just bought a 28mm broom handle, cut the required lengths and bound one end up with parcel tape until they were a snug fit in the bump stops. Worked a treat and only 4 quid

Nah, the fronts were at most 3 bits apart, but mostly 2. The rear drivers side was 7 bits different from the rear passenger side. That and the front left was higher than the right gave George that drunken stance she always had and it annoyed the feathers out of me! Worst comes to worst, I'll reset the values and take her to Hamish to sort out.

Make some bump stop gauges, dead easy then you absolutely know that the readings will be right. Tyre pressures and loading will have no effect then.

Correct, however, if you were sitting in the car, the stops would still make full contact with the axle so the readings would be fine.

I was outside the car, barely leaning in making the adjustments but it's all for nothing until the repair kit arrives. I'm going to faff with her later to remove the valve block so will have epic fun placing the one way valves directly onto the pipes and re-inflating her for the fiftieth time :D:mad::D:rolleyes::Do_O

Doo, a least it's giving you something to do and keeping your mind of the pain, but don't push yourself to far and regret it.

Either way, once you have done the block, get some setting blocks made up. Once I'd changed my sensors, it took me 5 minutes to set the heights. Lot less faffing than measuring and changing it a couple of points at a time. Also will show you if your sensors are a long way out.

Iv been looking in my crystal ball,,,,,and the mist starting to clear .isee two words its getting clearer...it says it says .....spring kit:eek::D snigger....

Hell no! Never

I am really not annoyed at the hassle, it's giving me something to do. I managed to bin the fault codes and she's simply waiting for the valve kit. I pulled the pump relay to prevent it running into infinity as I checked and found the air pissing past the valve in question. In fact, I am finding all this stuff pretty easy once I get a heads up as to what and how. All thanks to LZ of course ;)
