will it pass the mot missing a middle box?
if it does, that'll sound mmmm, very nice!!

I can't see why not. It's got two cats & two back boxes so it's not going to be super noisy. I wonder how much better it would sound if it were twin pipes all the way??? ;) Maybe look into that. I imagine it would sound secksee :D

Ha ha, I think a BIG bit of gun gum couldn't even fix that! I pulled it clean off and plonked it in the bin. The new back boxes arrive Monday....thinking on removing the centre box and replacing it with a straight pipe. The effect would be a gorgeous V8 grumble when the foot is down. Then I wouldn't need the stereo as the music off of those back pipes would be enough

Thoughts??
I bet you will put the c/box back on when you get fed up of the drumming on a long run:)

I was thinking ,middle box removal,BUT,there is no hangers on the straight pipe(one on ebay) ...Someone ,somewhere said they got fedup wi the noise there car made ,as for the m.o.t all you need is cats fitted (And not even on a diesel as long as it looks fitted,)Its not tested in uk.The police have a different take on noise though:rolleyes:...besides range rovers are majestic not sports cars :D,,.

Its a p38. Every thing is wrong ;)

Lol, I asked for that :p

Thought I had a rear wiper problem yesterday

It was stopped half way along its travel... no amount of pulling the stick would make it park. Resigned myself to another problem.

However, soon as I fired her up, it went away :D DOH!

Got a bit of an oil leak and fairly certain it's from the crank seal. It's a box off job, but the engine has only got 27k. I imagine sitting for 5 years not running killed the rubber and a year of non stop thrashing has exacerbated the leak.

Anyone tried that stop leak stuff? I believe it reinstates the rubber to a softer compound. Could be worth a try as in a year she's dropped about 3/4 of an inch on the dipstick o_O

I would. Lot easier than a box off. Well worth a try or just keep an eye on level and keep toppin up ;).

Theres always sumet:).

Good hobby though:p

That's just it, I've never needed to top up! The total oil loss since putting her (back) on the road last June is about a litre. I've only done 8k so a change due this year. I'll fling in some of that stuff all the same and when the engine needs to come out I'll do the seal. What's easier, engine out or box off? Most cars I just whizz the engine out, but I will need someone else to do it if it needs done in a hurry. I should be ok in about a year :rolleyes:o_O

Good decision ;) get well soon pal;)

If thats all the oil you are losing then I would just leave it and think yourself lucky.
Wouldnt recommend modding the exhaust in case it upsets the running of the engine, tuned lengths and back pressure and all that stuff

The stop leak stuff works only on rubber seals ,not cork n paper, but try oil change n then half a bottle if leak still there in a week try a little more....whats left will go in your diffs if they start to dribble :D

I would have thought even Land Rover would use rubber on their crank seals o_O

Mind you, having watched Wallace & Grommit, I expect it to be made of brass nuts & cheese :p

:D
