Thanks for that. Will look for small slotted screw. Am going to Hamish to pick up new MAF sensor, so will ask if he has a rebuild kit on the shelf. I don't mind doing a fix, just pissed off at the poor timing!

Sorry about the slotted screw thing. Im in France at moment on some demented data system. Anyway you calnt miss it. It holds the shiny reeds together. Its a small slotted screw ;)

Ordered kit, be here tomorrow morning....hopefully! I have a small (cigar lighter) plug in compressor for blowing up tyres. It's excellent quality and wondered if I could blow up the bags in the meantime so I can at least use the car. I have no way to re-set the EAS and Hamish away on holiday tonight :(

Any thoughts on this? And thanks for the replies so far, was a bit vague yesterday due to being at child's school sports day all day (I supplied the PA) then delivering back the gazebo, came in & had a pain killer  Knocked me on my arse

as an emergency quick fix you could pull the airlines off the valve block and put in temp connectors off ebay. they just need an airline from a garage (like blowing up tyres) then get a override loom and connect it under the drivers seat, this will put the system in manual mode and you can then run around with the bags at any height you like without the 35mph limit flashing up. would take an hour to do and will last ;like that until you have time to rebuild the compressor and check everything else out.

Well, here's a thing... I was doing 60mph when the lights came on & the 35mph warning. However, she continued at speed, even accelerating off the roundabout well past 60mph! I understood the car would not go above 35mph when this happened o_O

I see some emergency lift valve kits on ebay, but what a price  I could make something like that for the cost of the parts....It's not as if I have much else to do while I await for my operation (or an excuse as to why there isn't going to be one :().

I have wife's car (also an auto) so not entirely stuck. I can see me going to see if that Vogue is still available

The slow 35mph is advice, not a lump mode, its more for if it has dropped to bump stops you would not want to do 60 on bump stops, you would be in far more pain than you are now and need a trip to the dentist to boot, get the vogue you know it makes sence :D:D:D

You could make up a lead and download eas unlock to reset it. Maplins should have what you need.
If it's mainly the pump, that'll get you going but get the leak sorted out ASAP or you'll wreck the compressor seal again

The lead and software are about £12. Get the emergency kit for around £22. I dont go anywhere without the four valves in the glove box. Around 75PSI will get you around. Do it in 15PSI steps. Dont worry about the bypass loom if you dont mind the dash lookin like an xmas tree.;)

Actually, turns out she wasn't all the way on her arse, that only happened after I started unplugging the pipes from the valves to make up my emergency lift kit.

Got all the parts I needed including 30 metres of pipe (that's all I could get) and if I can get Photophucket to upload, I will add the pictures...

I am guessing the pump was getting worse as the seal on the piston wore out. I think the air tank is a bit **** an all o_O

There is a bit of a mess near the "exhaust" pipes from the airbags that I cannot, for the life of me, find any other reason for

Is there any way to service the tank and it's associated valves and whatnot?

Anyway, photo's of the temp repair..... The 3rd photo, I realised I had the wrong valve and sorted it out, but added the photo to show how it's NOT done :p

Good news everyone, George sat up all night exactly as I left her, so no leaks in the system. Drove into town & back and decided I needed to let the fronts down a but and raise the rears. All good. Am going to tidy up the kit later on, but what I'll do is (once she's been re-progged) raise her to full height, lower her onto axle stands and release the air. Then tidy up the install and inflate the bags then fire her up so she can sort herself out.

I am currently disassembling the pump and am wondering what size allan key I need to remove the piston from the motor? I haven't got one in the house and will likely need to buy one, but being a Wallace & Gromit affair, is it metric, imperial, AF, Whitworth, Morcombe & Wise or Dr Who? :D

Thank you chaps

I'm almost sure it was imperial but can't remember the size. Sorry.
A set of cheap imperial Allen keys is only about 4 quid from Cromwell tools.

Went to see my mate Ronnie (lovely lovely guy, helps out with local community and does more that he gets credit for) who loaned me an Allen key that fitted just fine.

All back together and photo's to follow later...

Damn and blast! :(

It has occurred to me that the valves may need an overhaul as well.....

Now the car remained at the same height all night, but after I lowered the fronts a bit & raised the rears this afternoon, I went to see Ronnie and I noticed after driving a few hundred metres, she was down at the back, evenly and not by much, but enough to flag the 35mph warning again!

No obvious hissing from the back, so I am assuming this must be due to the valve block! She's in EAS shut down, so must be a leak or am I missing something??

Edit: ahh I'm such a diiiick!!!! I lowered the front, so clearly, the car lowered the rears herself to compensate

Would that be correct??

Edit:edit: Off to refit the pump and jump the relay to see if she raises. Then I'll unplug the pump again and leave her at height until I can get the "fault" reset..... I need a beer or fifteen :p:confused::D

Think the Allen key is 4.5 mm,but I've never had to remove the piston to refurb mine. When you have done the valve block, remove all the unnecessary pipe and joints , they are only more points to leak.;)

If the height sensors are outside of the expected range for a given height setting it will throw up a fault.
If you are pumping the bags up manually, you might be close to the limits of the the setting it's in.
If it is staying up OK, then the valve block is probably OK.
