I wondered about that one,
I found out that it is the difference between the actual engine rotation speed at idle and the target speed which the control system is looking to achieve, looking at mine it gets lower when the engine has run for a while and its hot.

Just been having a rare google-fest while the baby has a morning nap :)

Check out this website; http://luca72.xoom.it/td5mapsuiteweb/index.html

There is a handy Graph Viewer specifically for the TD5 readouts;

AND not that i'm suggesting it's a good idea, but a engine map editor........

That is useful, just hope I can keep my fingers off the mapping tool ! !

That is what I thought...itchy fingers.

In fact, i've just been outside to download my map via the nanocom (as a backup more than anything, honest). It didn't work, presumably because the ECU is too old and cannot be reprogrammed (even though Mike at Dynachip has fitted a chip). My good other half asked if I managed to get what I wanted form the car, I said "no thank god, or i'll only have REALLY broken the car!"

I'm more than happy with my remap anyway, drove a mates TD5 yesterday and it's SO slow and unresponsive! He couldn't believe the difference when driving mine after (he is now saving for a remap)

Ooooooooooo! Back up of my map would be nice, though not sure I want to start buggering around with mapping lol.

I put the speed down to it being in kilometres per hour, not MPH ?!? There may even be somewhere to change the units, not looked.

To change the setting to read in mph go to settings in TD5 Instrument Board and change the tyre coefficient from 1 to 0.6214 and save the setting. We have just returned from a foreign trip and use the Nancom as a kph speedo by setting it to 1

I was looking at mine and saw the TD5 instrument board, but it stated it required an unlock code.

Is this an optional extra?

Cheers

well,

I am happy, just managed to add a new key fob to my Disco!

silly little thing, but one of the reasons this ittle unit will pay for itself.

Thanks Huff huff.

Cheers

That's one of the other reasons I wanted the nanocom too. However I've failed to get it working. I got the wrong fob off eBay. I think I need a 17TN.

I'm glad you're finding a use already :)

Hi huff Huff, what is a 17TN? I just ordered the first one I found on ebay that looked the same.

is there a difference for the key fobs that look the same?

cheers

If only I was that lucky. From my digging around, that fob could be any of these...

Lucas 17TN
Lucas 3TXB
Lucas 3TXD
Lucas 3TXA

Although, I don't know if the disco fobs are the same. It will be etched on the back of the fob or on the PCB inside

I need a 17TN I think...

Mine is the std two button one, with the key attached to the fob( one button is slightly larger, the original has Landrover written on it.)
Did you see the video guide?
interestingly , on opening my fobs one is dated 2003 and the other 2011 on the little sticker, Obviously the PO had to get a spare.

Cheers

Mine looks like this

Your key looks like a photo with a red cross on it? No wonder it does not open your doors.

Photo is not showing Huff huff. LOL

Oh my " new " one is actually the inner parts from a rover 75 / 45 key.

Cheers

Finally got an SD Card that bloody works!

I did get some quite high/low cylinder numbers these alright?

Don't pay too much attention as I just copied the largest values out of a massive sheet

Are the cylinder values just corrections made by the system to smooth the engine during tick over?
