My Disco is a TDI 1994 on a L only had it 2 mths and done over 2500 in it like the old girl lots, hope it stays fit and wel

yeah it dont go fast but it goes the same speed no matter what you bolt on the back of it.It'd drag the factory it was built in

can't wate till we get the caravan on the tow, and hidehi campers here we come.
Gill likes the da meets, so do I coss them only a £5 to £8 a night, and a good Gang makes for a lolllll.
When you get a caravan we may meet up and sink a few, caravan is handy not much to fall over in it lolllllllll.

DR you still with us, thanks for info ref weights, as a newbe to caravaning i appreciate all advice.
My caravan is lighter than yours and Goonarmy's Parents van, my van is only 2 wheel and 950kilos

you'l be fine with that.Just make sure the tail dont wag the dog and get a stabiliser. But with that kerbweight you'll be fine

Goonarmy, Thanks 4 advice, I was thinking of fiting an AL-KO Stabiliser on it, as the other types are a lot of hastle.

yeah they all come as standard on most caravans now.Seem to do the trick and the old bulldog type have a nasty habbit of whacking the old shins

And with me being disabled:( , I thought the less work the beter so looking for a bargain AL-KO or i may have to pay big bucks for 1:D

the only prob it can see is they wear out, but its takes years and me folks have never worn theres out.they keep their vans for about 4 years each and get loads of time in em

Yes The Pads Wear Out But You Can Buy Replacement Pads For Em. You Also Have To Make Sure There Is No Grease Or Oil On The Towball, Plus You Need A Towball With A Long Neck

Aww Fook, Did I Just Admit Ter Knowing About Caravans Ffs

its from me days workin at theAA, honest

Yeah Yeah ..... we all believe THAT!

My Disco tows a caravan about twice a year 220 miles each way.

The trick is to remember you are towing. Otherwise you can get a Hell of a scare when you look in the rear view mirrors.

Cripes ! ! That guy's WAY too close!

I use a Bulldog stabiliser. I wind it up really tight. Snaking caravans at 75 passing big trucks isn't funny.

just does p*** me off - these tw***s who take their brats to school in those superminis ( heaps of SH**) and pay 35 quid a year for tax but clog up the roads at rush hour.

i have freelander - not the most harmful to the ozone, i work from home and have to pay over 200 quid in tax.

then they moan that everyone drives too fast past schools, when they are parked on double yellow lines dropping the little t*a**s off.

Why is it I am being made to feel guilty about owning a 4x4?
A few years ago I used to own a dihatsu 4x4 and I never ever had any comment about it, I have just recently brought my discovery V8 ( I am running it on LPG) and had a few comments like " I should be paying £3000 a year tax on that" "them bull bars are not legal" It went throu an MOT ok with it on, even my mates 18 year old daughter had a go at me about it. Is it just me or have other members had silly commments like these?

NO WE ARNT...it been gettin warmer since the ice age..no one says anything about that(no 4x4s then) The less ice the hotter it gets ,the hotter it gets the less ice and so in..We dont take up much more room than other cars and we pay lots more tax when we fill up.

listen folks,

dont take any notice of anything these soap dodger tree hugging hippies say, ive only had mine for a week and ive heard the lot, i bought as big a 4x4 as my mrs would drive, if there is going to be a crash due to some idiot that shouldnt be on the road in the first place then my only concern is my family and there safety, and for that reason it will be fitted with a tow bar and an A bar

and i especially like winding up all the wingers in any car park i use by parking right in the middle of 2 bays, you should see the looks i get, i love it, i just laugh at them, these smelly peasants that moan have no purpose or use in life, so they are happy to try and make our lives difficult through pure jealousy

anyway, driving should be about enjoyment and what better way of enjoying driving than getting of the road and having some real fun, and to end this little rant, let me tell all you tree dwellers and jealous halfwits that i cant wait till i see any of you in your old beetles and camper vans with piece signs and flowers on them, at the side of the road stranded in the heavy snow, or rain, ill drive past laughing then turn around and drive over the top of your excuse for a car monster truck style!!
