Well in my experience its true with p38's
I've maintained mine well and had no issues whatsoever.
Done 198000 miles, regular oil and coolant changes are the V8's secret to good health.
Change the suspension airbags after 8 years, basically follow the land rover maintenance schedule and your P38 will not be unreliable.
They are so affordable now and fabulous vehicles, buy one now before the word gets out.....
