remember reading somewhere that the 3.5 cam was an "upgrade" for the 3.9..

aparantly it had wider valve open times, i have not tested this though....

worth a thought maybe? might save some cash if it does work!

ive seen its a upgrade for the 3.5 to put the 3.9 cam in but not the other way round im after a high lift cam, thanks anyway mate

im happy the way its running at mo but want to get a few service items. rotor, leads, dizzy cap.still need water pump lol

Well,i got the rear prop shaft on and the front one has lined up a treat,
transfer box mount chassis holes line up good to so cant be bad,:)

all i need is (hard to find) metal mounts for tranny box and i car realy get to work with the reasemble rear end,:D

malc quick question,

you have your main rad for water then a rad in front of the main rad for engine oil, how did you get round the autobox oil,as on the rr went through the main water rad, or did you just use the bog brush oil cooler, and if so was it surfisent to cool gearbox.

hi malc,

got my hands on a pair of tranny brackes yesterday and fitted them last night,
now i know i said the props were fine but now i have transfer box proply bolted in both props seem to be to short, the front prop just to short and the rear by about inch and half, what have i done wrong?
could understand if one was to long and the other to short, but both?,lol,

hello mate,
have you tried to adjust the props. they should slide in and out on the splined shaft, if not try pumping some grease in them to loosen them off. mine were seazed and had to free them off before they would fit. (by the way ive just done the same conversion as malc) also what props are you using? I used the original 90 front prop on the rear, and the rangey skinny front prop on the front and it works a treat.

will try the grease but the props are at full length but having said that i have the front rr prop wrong way round (was thinking about this today)lol on rear so will try like you have done, have the front 90 prop in place as the norm,as for my rear 90 prop it fell apart when i removed the old transfer box and i binned it (yes i know idiot) lol but see how we go weekend,

did you as malc used the original holes on the chassis for the transfer box?
can`t understand when i offered the props up when there was no mounts both seamed to be long enough,

it seems both my prop shafts are to short, pumped loads of grease in to both of them(poss first time any greese up done as to the colour of what came out)
by the amount that they are both fully extended and still don`t reach,
plus they need to be at there shortest or there abouts as for axel movement

mark got some props for a classic if they are any good cheers stuart
as for cams i can get a good deal on a piper unit

just fitted v8 3.5 efi rrc into my 90, every thing fitted a treat. Props, gearbox wiring, etc.Janspeed headers.,home made exhaust (63mm) running both sides into single ashley back box sound like tvr.Kent cam fitted, revs really quick.

ok im running on v8 3.9 auto box with borg warner transfer box useing origenal chassis mounts from a range rover classic useing the origenal chassis holes, why are my props to short ?

Have you checked to see if your props have not ceased, you,ve got a couple of inches there (dont tell the wife though)

something doesn't sound right to me as I've got the same 3.9 v8 with auto box and BW transfer box. My gear box is bolted to the chassis using the RRC mounts and the original holes in the chassis yet I had no probs with my props. I'm using the skinny front prop off a rrc as my front prop and the original front prop off my 90 as my rear prop.

what going on?

3.9 v8 auto zf 4 speed with bw tranny, yet props don`t reach axels, rr prop or 90 one,
its not as if one is to long and the other is to short they both don't reach,
