hi all ive got the v8 all in the 90 and the auto box all sorted couple things i need to sort.

1/what throtle cable do i use?is the range rover one fine and dose it fit the 90,s pedal?

2/what bottom water hose do i use?as both 90 or the range rover dont fit?

3/the power steering metal pipes are to long and are different to the v8 ones?can i put the range rover ones one to my 90 steering box?

4/where dose the two heater water pipes go on the 3.9 efi engine?

5/what size fuel pipe will i need to conect to the v8 and fuel pump?

6/will my 90,s speedo go in the 4 speed auto box?

7/how can i fit my 90,s handbrake lever to the autos hand brake(so i still got the handbrake on the seatbox)

sorry if this is all simple stuff i should no but want to double check as dont want to waste cash getting wrong bits and time cheers malc

1 done
2 you may have to get mone made or modife the two hoses to fit
3 swap to the range rover ones no problem
4 to the heater box does not matter which way round either
5 5/16" or 8mm copper is fine and the same on the return
6 no but you can buy the nas spec cables for the speedo and transducer
7 use the original hand barke unit if it is a lt230 t box or the range rover one if it is the viscous unit

thanks vougese39 for the info.i reckon i can get this pretty much sorted buy next week fingers crossed, cant wait.any more info or pics will be much greatful

Out of ineterest, what tunnel are you going to use?

My V8 auto has the original tunnel cover, the pain is that you cannot get carpets etc for it.

If you can fit a different one then it is worthwile doing so - if you do, please let me know - I'll change mine.

I have no idea if you can use a different one though.

There is nothing wrong with your work mate, very nice indeed.

cheers mate.im still working on her slowly getting the power steering pipes made up today.want it running and all electrics ok,then im going to put a high lift cam and port polish the heads ect got long way yet.but cant wait.any one with there v8 90,s feel free to post up yours cheers malc

what exhaust down pipe are you using? I've fitted the cats on mine and ive noticed that where the loom gos into the chassis is right up against the cat on the drivers side, so i'm either going to have to get a different exhaust or try and move the loom some how.

mine didnt have cats mine missed it on my year range rover ive just brought a full janspeed system with headers so will fit them next week

how did you get on with yours did you get it running?im nearly there on mine ive got all the seat box back in and have a good mate that will be doing the electrics this friday .main couple bits ive got to do if the powersteering pipes as needs modifying, and need a mocal oil cooler for the auto box as i dont want to use the bog brush one

fit a non cat tune resister and you dont need the catts

ive got it turning over now ,so not long i hope before it starts i have a sparky turning up friday to sort the wiring so should be sorted this weekend

good news all it starts well happy all need to do is tidy the wires and do couple water pipes cheers for the help

i managed to get the gearbox cooler sorted and manged to move it.but this weekend im sorting the water pipes and putting the ecu in the battery box

Its only a suggestion Malc, but I would avoid putting the ECU in the battery box, Only because its a dark, damp, lonely place, containing a plastic box full of acid. Rover always kept it in the passenger compartment (RR under seat, Disco by your toes) and I'm sure they have their reasons for this.

I managed to pull enough loom through the big hole I drilled by the fusebox, and running the loom along the edge of the tunnel and across the seatbox, to mount the ecu on the bulkhead between the seats.

Nice and warm and dry, and out of harms way.

I keep meaning to put up some pictures of mine but I'm away from home at the minute and have no pics in the laptop.

Good luck, Dave.
