My TD5 is an auto and has been tuned it still has the EGR and cat, i get 22mpg town use and 29-31mpg on a run.

My manual does between 27 and 30 mpg. All short trips.
Does 32 on a run at 60mph.
Worst I get is 26 when towing heavy loads.

I have a Discovery td5 and I can't seem to get more than 22mpg around and about but I get more towing on the motorway
Now go buy one and take it on the chin its well well worth it, you don't want a Feeblelander now do you lol

Having had both, the TD5 auto got 23 in normal driving and 33 on long trips at 60mph. The Freelander 2 manual gives me 27 around town on a cold engine and around 40 at 70mph. And it's nicer to drive. Aaaargh, gerroff, leave me alone you lot, I don't care! Nurrrrse!

glad to see someone is honest, 22mpg is all i can get from my 04 td5 but who cares!!!!
Even driving sensibly my re mapped td5 does only about 30 mpg ish a little less when towing but it does go like stink if required and still gives about 30 mpg ,it is round town that they suffer,if you are only going to use it for the shops then expect low 20's

Not worked out my mpg yet, picked up my TD5 October 1st and filled the tank (£98). Just coming up to 600 miles and no 'low fuel' warning light showing yet, I would say thats pretty good
