Its been a fair while since i posted any updates, between house moves, children and a seized engine it almost ended up on flea bay. I am missing a few pictures but these are the start of the engine coming back together.

Had a shot at re commissioning the cylinder head myself but the valve stems were for the older internal oil seals, looked into getting new stems reamed in but in the end gave up and opted for a turner performance head, hopefully it will feel the benefit of the extra 6hp!

I had messed up when stripping the engine down and took the cam sprocket off without noting which grove the woodruff key was in, however, with the trusty help of those on landy zone managed to get passed this cock up!

This is it finished on the engine stand.

Whilst we had the engine out I opted to replace the steering relay, I had heard some horror stories of those that are difficult to remove and was very surprised when it pretty much jumped out, not complaining though!

in some of your first pictures back in 2013 i noticed you used Brit part shock absorbers, are they ok quality wise? I will be needing (hopefully) to order all my new suspension items in a week or so and was wondering about them as they are £20 cheaper each than any other.

Ye they are Britpart all round, its difficult to say what the quality is like as the thing has sat in a garage for 6 of the last 7 years, they haven't rusted at all which i guess is a plus and they are still in near perfect condition even though it has been outside for the past year. It will be interesting to see what they are like after they have done a little bit of work.
