wish i had'nt asked now ;)
i just want to say that when i got the car the heater matrix pipes was leaking [the rubber rings ]so the drivers side carpet was wet
i will look at it tomorow and clean all the conectors .
so im ok to disconnect the battery and take the box out from under the seat
thanks for all your help please lets not argue all the info is good to me .
i will give it a go and let you all know :)

If the O Rings were leaking 95% sure it is condensation in the BeCM...

As Data suggests...whip it out and give it a good drying out...( the BeCM that is mind.... :D)

There you have the most likely cause of your problem.
As long as you have your EKA code and Radio code you can safely disconnect the battery.
Getting the BECM out is not an easy task, you may find you need to remove the seat although some have managed without.
When you get it out, check all the connectors for any signs of damp or silver/green marks between pins. Clean with a brush and good contact cleaner (not WD40).
Remove the lid from the BECM and look for condensation and corroded tracks. Take care not to touch the components unless you have earthed any static electricity in your body and I wouldn't recommend trying to part the 2 printed circuit boards.
If there is any sign of condensation or maybe even if there isn't any obvious, stick it somewhere like a warm airing cupboard for 24 hours.
Put it back in and see what happens. If you are lucky all will be well.:)

Thanks for letting us know that bit does help :p
Hey don't mind us :)

If you have some compressed air, it is handy to blast out liquid between small parts. The PCBs are supposed to be coated in a water proof material, although the quality of which I couldn't comment on (I suspect it degrades over time).

If possible don't balance the boards on something either, they will warp. Keep them on a flat surface while drying.

right i will make a start to get it out i have a compressor so got the air to blow it .
my radio is afterr market
not sure wot the EKA code is for

Turn the pressure down to low eka is a code that comes with the car if the key fob battery's don't work or other problems if you haven't got a code go to your main dealer with your log book and retrieve the code for free its in the handbook if you have one . Or you can buy one eBay cheap
Or here on rave this is a manuel for your car :)

I would not recommend going anywhere near the printed circuit boards with compressed air, you could do untold damage. You can use a hairdrier on low heat from a distance, but take care not to get anything too hot.
You can use compressed air in the connectors although I have never found it much help.:)

EKA is so you can start the engine when the keyfob is out of sync. You should've got a small business card with the EKA written on it. If not, then it might be stuck to the inside of the under seat fuse box cover. If not, you'll need to pop on down to your local Landy dealer and ask them to look it up for you. Most do it FoC.

I've been cleaning PCBs with compressed air for years without any issues. Well, tell a lie, I once had a heat sink come off because the double-sided tape had turned to dust. But otherwise, no drama.

Water can get under the conformal coating and corrode tracks. Loose conformal coating will de dislodged by compressed air often taking sections of track with it. The coating has a life expectancy greater than 20 years if correctly applied.
The boards are good quality resin glass and unlikely to warp but are best not removed from the box unless you have some electrical/electronic knowledge.:)

You suit yourself, I've been designing and repairing the stuff for 50 years, I've seen the damage that can be done with compressed air even in experienced hands.
I try to suggest a course of action that is unlikely to make a bad situation worse for someone with little or no experience:)
Wit compressed air, you can rip bits off the board when the coating lifts, destroy electrolytics, chokes and other upstanding fragile components.

Fair enough, I hadn't thought about the whole water under the coating. I generally work in a much drier environment.

Take Datatek's advice. You don't want to have very expensive glitter floating around your garage.

too hot an hair dryer can have Disastrous effects too, I would of thought the most sensible would be take the top off and put it in the oven .... I'm mean airing Cupboard and let nature take its coarse no stripping =
No damage :)

So if you had read what I said, I suggested the airing cupboard and in response to the compressed air suggestion I said that a hairdryer could be used on a low setting from a distance. I did not make the fecking stupid comment of putting it in the oven as you did which you clearly thought was funny.
As helpful as an alligator attached to your arse.
