Kilo, those are standard L322 20" wheels NOt Sport. They are one of my favourite FFRR styles. I have a couple spare with tyres (and tread!). Am near J18 M4 so let me know if you need any more to swap for damaged ones on yours. U could pick them up on your way to Cardiff/Sussex! :)
+1 they are a factory l322 upgrade option got them on mine after diching 22s very simple but effective

Everyone seems to be saying this and while I can't comment from experience surely high maintenance is to be expected? Its a 4 wheel drive, 3000kg 4.4v8 monster riding on a cushion of air and had more toys than currys and ann summers combined. To expect it to have no issues would be dreaming, the same as to expect it from any other performance vehicle. Daewoo do a 7 year 100000 mile warranty if reliability is a main concern but I'm sure everyone, myself included, would want anything but that.

Not having a go but just saying. Also when people are saying reliability issues are they talking actual side of the road breakdowns or are they just talking about stuff like the rear heated seats not working or something else similar which to me isn't really something to get too upset about.
Found all the Curry's toys, going out to look for the Ann Summers stuff the morning. Perhaps it's not factory fitted and that's why yours weighs so much;);):)

all i can say is, if a spare part would normally cost £1, a range rover part is £51, and every more involved job i do is roughly £500.

front struts, £440, gearbox rebuild, lots of other ancillaries and torque converter £1000, new air con condenser and recharge £420 (not done yet), replace rear suspension arms and bushes £600 (not done yet), headlamp wiper motors £320, although to be fare i will always try and use oem parts but do the jobs myself with a lot of help and probably change more than i need to.....

none of those prices include cash i paid for labour. i am up to around £3k spent in 5 months but then it was my first l322 and didn't really know what to look for, i do now though... hands up i bought a duffer with totally made up service history

keep the faith and get an all comms.......:)

If your ever selling H/chick, i'm buying..... as long as you rebuild the engine too, lol

i really dont want to ever rebuild the engine but at least my recent mot showed the engine to be perfect from an emissions point anyway, thats unless he forgot to connect it to the pipes

my only saving grace is i only paid £6k for a 2004 vogue with 108k and i did bump into a woman at the main dealer who paid over 11k for one with an estimate for about £4k needing spending on it which was probably just a service

my theory is it cost about £50k new so if i make it like new its worth that to me, well as long as i pretend the date is 2004......... this is all good therapy;)

Don't know why folks come down so hard on Range rovers and think they are worse than others.
Go to a BMW forum and take a gander at the X5.
Older Range Rovers are not the right choice for your average Joe, more enthusiasts with a love of the marque.
As a previous post said, If you want years of trouble free motoring go buy a new Kia with a 7 year warranty and be bored to death, not an early 2000's RR.

5 days of ownership so far and have bit making the most of it. Been using it on all trips round town and have been on a few jaunts. Drove to the centre of london on friday night through croydon traffic and then 50 miles on the m25 home the next day. Took her down to brighton earlier today as well.

I've learnt driving it is unlike anything I've driven before in the way your whole driving style changes. Its a lot more laid back than even top of the range mercs and the steering is lighter than anything I've ever driven. Tight turns so easily in such a big car is a thrill in itself. The suspension though is far too soft for my liking. Any corner that catches you out slightly causes the body to roll and combined with braking is an uncomfortable experience. On the motorway the suspension lowers and it is sooo much better. Is there anything I can do to fix it to this full time? Turning the suspension setting to low only works up til 25mph even if you fix it using the button. Totally backwards in my opinion as sub 25mph is when I want it at its highest.

The mpg has also been a let down even more than I expected. Showing 18mpg on the computer which is as I expected on the type of driving I've done. The problem though is the lpg. Was expecting almost double the equivalent mpg rating as its almost half the price per litre (70p/£1.30). I got 140 miles out of £35 today which only works out as 24mpg. Should be above 30mpg equivalent even if you take into account all the variables (optimistic dash read out if 18mpg, lpg only 70% as efficient as petrol, £1.30 isn't double of 70p!). Not sure what is happening here or if its to be expected.

Few things also I've had trouble with. Codes p1171 and p1174 keep popping up (3 times cleared now) and while it might be just the lpg causing misfires, I wouldn't mind having a look at the pcv hoses too. Does anyone have a reference guide to all the manufacturer specific codes?

Radio was kaput when I bought it which I don't think I can fix myself. Decided on a digi tv upgrade instead so I can listen to digital radio too. Dealer cost £500, local firm cost £300, online diy kit £190, buy the bits yourself after a bit if reading £70. Going to fit it tomorrow so hopefully a decent mod.

Also noticed a cupholder was broken. Dash one won't pop out as the spring has probably gone. Checked online for a part, £85 quid!!! Madness. Checked out some of the other interior parts and was amazed. Plastic fascias for £300. Thats higher prices than most supercars for bits like that. Even the exterior bits are unbelievable. £££ for those nasty cheap aftermarket add ons that make peoples cars look worse. Can't believe people have paid that much to actually make the car look that bad. I thought all if that stuff was cheap ebay crap. Think I will go online for a breakers cupholder anyway ha, and if it's more then £25 then I'll stop loosing sleep over it and my girlfriend can use the one 2ft away from it instead!

The car also has a slight knock from the front when turning left at low speeds. Probably a ball joint or something but I'll live with it til my next mot.

Loving the gadgets more than I thought I would too. Heated wheel is a genuinely good idea and the car has more things than I thought it had. Auto wipers are great and the seat function to bend the top of the back seat and adjust the headrest is top notch. Auto dimming wing mirrors are taking a bit of getting used to though.

You will get used to the ride. They still handle very well even though they don't feel like it at first.

You can get the suspension manually lowered just by adjusting the calibration heights for the suspension. I wouldn't recommend this though. I had the same issue when I first got mine so I fitted larger (20") wheels which in turn have less tyre than the previous wheels so the end result was a firmer ride. Since then the handling and roll around corners was much better and more sturdier.

Yes parts are effing expensive sometimes. But some stuff isn't too bad considering.

Knocking on wheel is most likely a ball joint worn.
Very common to go at this age of car. But pretty simple to change.

i had to prioritise what issues i dealt with, i got mine driveable and reliable first and then i will work though the luxury items next. my passenger cup holder didnt eject but i used some silicon spray to clean it and it works now. might be gummed up with spilled coffee
i have 20 " wheels with 255/50 tyres and its feels pretty tight in corners but still floats along on the motorway at 70

i dont have LPG but my fuel, if you believe the computer is about 18 averaged out over a few months and on a motorway, even though the m25 is mostly 50 where i am at the moment it will show nearly 24 on the computer but even if this isnt accurate it definitely uses less on the motorway than the 8 mpg i have seen bombing around the village

i may complain but i love driving mine like nothing else

If you are getting uncomfortable lean angles, you bought the wrong car, go get a sports car. The L322 and the P38 for that matter corner flatter than a lot of cars I've driven and I can leave most drivers on roundabouts and the twisties in my P38 and the L322 is better. If you are getting "caught out" by corners, there is something seriously wrong with your driving ability. The ability to read the road ahead is essential to safe driving.

^^^ thanks for the tip and yes my daily driver is a sports car with the range is to be used in the winter mainly as my other car is simply dangerous in winter and the b roads where I live can get pretty bad. No matter what car you drive you will always be caught out on some corners no matter what you drive unless you are doing the same journey day in day out. Not unsafe imo if traction control kicks in or you get a bit of roll as in the range. The car has 20" wheels but just feels so much better in motorway mode although I don't think I would lower it for the reasons hippo outlined. Just a bit gutted I can fix it in this position.

Good tip about the cup holder holidaychicken. Will take it out have a nose today. Did you pull yours to bits?

i just force fed mine some silicon spray and then wiped off the rest, you can take it out by removing the end panel but cant remember exactly where the retaining screw is but its not hard. there is a youtube clip that shows how to remove the entire end section where you would only need to lever off the end panel to access it but i didnt need to

the spring isnt that powerful in mine but it pops out fine now

Don't buy a Range Rover then moan about fuel consumption....champagne cars cannot be run on orange juice money!

LPG is less efficent than petrol so more has to be squirted to get the same output....it is around 15% less efficent so your 18mpg indicated will be more like 15mpg.

Then there is the cost difference per litre....130p verses 71p....

The true cost saving will be around 40 odd % not over 50%

Mine regularly reads 18.4mpg but in brim to brim checks (cos I log it all down and I am sad!) I get around 15.3mpg.

As for cost of parts - yes the cup holder is a bit expensive for what it is - but again a Range Rover will put serious dents in yer wallet....be prepared for it!

Thanks but I wasn't moaning about mileage just giving my honest feedback from owning the car for a few days, both the positives and the negatives. Yes I was expecting better mileage on lpg as even with both mine and your figures I should be getting more than 4 miles to the £ if the dash is showing 18mpg even when considering the variables. Might just need an lpg service. Either way its far better than the 12mpg average I've been getting in my other car for the last 16 months.

That is total bollocks, you have obviously never driven a motorcycle, get caught out once and you are likely to end up dead. Reading corners is not difficult and you can learn to read if they are opening or closing. I've seen the results of people failing to read a corner, spread all over the front of a truck.
Dropping it to motorway position actuall softens the supension.

^^^ call it a difference in opinion. I don't mean getting caught out as in losing control, but you really reckon you've never driven round a corner that tightens and your range lurches at bit? Thats total bollocks mate unless you drive like a granny all day. Might be different in your part if the world but pitch black country lanes with minimal signage around my way will always cause a bit of braking and a sharper turn than expected now and again if you drive more than a couple of hours.

Saint: yep even taking into account say 15mpg in real terms compared to the 18mpg on the dash, I should be getting more miles than I am. Just noticed a bottle of valve cleaner fluid that is linked up to the log system in the engine bay. This is almost empty and looks more than a couple if years old. Do you know if this could have an effect on mpg and if I can just replace it myself? Lpg is all new to me but if the injectors are gunked up and possibly leaking this would lead to poorer effeciency just as dirty injectors in a petrol engine right? Seems to be loosing coolant too although on the last service it was noted a small leak from the t connection that splices into the coolant lines for the lpg system. I suppose this is probably the cause although I can't see it in the bay personally.

As I said, it's easy to read whether a corner tightens or opens. No I don't drive like a granny, I used to race bikes and cars and at one time used to do 50K miles a year for work. If you want to see dark twisty lanes you should visit France, often covered in mud and cow **** and you are quite likely to meet a combine coming the other way.

The bottle of valve cleaner sounds like flashlube has been installed. It shouldn't have any effect on MPG. This is to protect the valves seats from recession - caused by the dry nature of LPG. It's recommended to use a flashlube system with LPG but not absolutely necessary for Rover & BMW V8's as the valves are harder than the later Jag engines. I believe you can buy the oil & top up but i would suggest a service on the LPG system anyhoo.
