i need t replace the window channels in the doors of my series 3 pickup. can anyone recommend the best kit for doing this?

grand so. nuff moss and mould on the recycled living room carpet thats in it to do me for the time being.

I appreciate this thread is a few years old however since buying a series 3 I seem to create a post every other day so thought I would have a look at previous posts

What is the difference between the top window channel and the bottom (apart from the lock whole being cut out )? I have one window that keeps falling out on me and hitting me on the head when I turn a corner and the other passenger window lower channel has fallen apart.

I was wondering if I could just buy a metre of channel from ebay and do both jobs with the one piece , not sure why upper and lower parts are sold seperately is it just a issue of the length of the channel

Thanks.

I have similar issues - also moss & something fungal happening.

Craddocks sell channel strip in metre lengths. You'll also need the flat head self tap screws. Cost approx 6 quid postage incl. Screws are 40 p for 20.

Last set I did with stainless steel/plastic window channels from a marine supply. Cheap it most certainly was not, but considering I personally find moss annoying I decided once and done was much more to my tastes.

If you search the online marine suppliers I am sure you can find it - the one I got was in 8-foot sticks (2.5 meters or thereabouts) and was easily cut to size with a fine-bladed hacksaw.

Does anyone know where I can buy these window channels in Birmingham , the internet seems to advertise them at £1.25 each and then you go to checkout and with post they are about £9.00!! Thanks
