Will a 300tdi Disco front diff fit into Defender 110 300tdi

I have got a vibration from 50mph up, whilst under pressure. I have been told that the front diff is on its way out and will need replacing soon.

I know someone with a scrap 300tdi Disco, who says I can have his front diff if it fits.

My Defender is a 1998 model, 300tdi. Can anyone advise me.

i think so, providing it has the right number of splines. Nearly swapped my rear axle for a disco one. What model engine is yours?

It's a 1998 built 300tdi Defender that started life as a hard top.

it will be the same diff ,unless diff flange has end float (loose and will move in/out ) normally first sign of diff wear is noise on overrun,props would be my first thought

Thanks, will check props again before I do change the diff.
