Standard Defender jack goes in the jacking points on the front chassis members, or on the rear crossmember.
Not into the outrigger.
I thought the bottle jack was the std Defender jack.....at least that is what is in mine...., of course it may not be std , not much of the thing is anyway.

I didn't know what I was doing lol the guy I got it from when I called to ask he said yeah it goes in the side...it slips in the tube hahaha the thing is he's done it there before Good job I didn't carry one then ay haha

I think the term was cringe......LOL..
Never seen the point of lifting the chassis to change a tyre , much easier to lift the axle.
