why is it so slow ?????defender 200tdi

Sorry I am only a Junior member, don't want to upset anyone. I had this with my 300 tdi, fuel filter was the problem, dont mess with the fuel pump until you have replaced this, 1 min job & cheap. Also check the pump.
If that no work than tweak the pump may have been meesed with before.
 
still no joy fitted new lift pump done a compression test and tryed a good set of working injectors out of my mates landy still no joy ive done every thing any one no a good place to take it to get it sorted ??? near gatwick airport
 
dont no about gearboxes (i will check to mo when i see him ) but mine wont even pull anymore speed in 4th or 5th. 50 to 55 mph flat out that cant be right ??? can it ???

Not too sure, but ah changed an lt230r for the later lt230t along with the axles and transfer box. The old one felt like it was strugglin' to reach 55 where as the newer type made it no probs.
Like ah say, it might be a 'silly' idea;)
 
Thank fook i have a td5 :p i can sit on motorway at 100 mph all day long no mither! but then again i only go on a motorway a few times a year LOL
 
i checked the cam timing again to day it was spot on all timed up via auto data the fuel pump adjustment screw still has the locking wire and sill on it .i got the vehicle from my mates dad who has had this vehicle from 1 year old with full land rover history he sold it to me very very cheep as he said its down on power and dont pull that well any more but the engine sounds sweet for a diesel with no missfires poor starting etc ive done every thig i can think of and checked things 3 times over now even if you rev it at stand still it seams a bit flat and it dose not put out ANY smoke at all not even at start up

last thing to try is a fuel pump i think. if that dont fix it i will just brake it up for spares
