It doesn't even make a motor noise?As it is a D1, check it aint the door springs, how has the CL failed?

Within the next couple of years the chassis will need swapping on the tratter, I towed a trailer to collect the series for nearly 900 miles eighteen months ago. As you say we'll see what a mot shows up, don't get me wrong the Disco is not without its issues but then the same goes for my defender. The series will have a rock solid chassis and I'm galvanising the bulkhead and radiator panel, it'll be used for pottering around, tip runs, woid gathering and for my lads to drive and doss about in.Difficult situation to be in. Yer does like collecting things. Looks like yer series has got wet and fallen apart. Me dad had an ole series 2. Is the engine in yer series got enough power for what yer need? Does anyone else need to drive it or is it just you?
I think yer need to know if the disco will pass it's mot. Not just the initial pass but yer want to know of advisories which effect it's future regarding work required in a few years. It could be ok now but showing signs of rust worms eating it alive inside out. Or at least know what may fail on it in the near future. If the mot proves it to be solid, then it's viable as an option to keep. If not then repair or chop it up for fire wood and sell bit's oft it.
If yer likes the historical vehicle status of a series then that would favour keeping the series if it's able to keep up with the demands of a metrosexual cosmopolitan lifestyle the modern man like you has. Do you need suspension in yer life? Are you craving for the comfort of shock absorbers? Are you able to fix the disco if it's broke'd in the future if yer kept it?
I'm currently planning a trip out tomorrow. I will be travelling several hundred miles in comfort and luxury in a vehicle which is known for it's capability. I will think about yer situation along the way. Make the right decision now and you and yer pig could travel in style in the same comfort.

Series is tax free and I assume that the insurance and running costs are pretty similar between a tratter and a disco. Series is a '64 so tax free.ok. If yer was to keep 2 of them (disco + series), would yer be ok to fund the running costs of both like insurance, tax if needed and general servicing?
Does yer have a bad back or anything similar which means yer need a softer ride? (anything wobbled loose)

A four grand hippo will only ever depreciate whereas a 510 pound disco can't because it'll always be worth more than that scrap. The only car I've fallen in love with was my old cj7 and one of those is out of the question. Hopefully I'll fetch the disco tomorrow and I'll get some better pics up and give it a crawling over.Perhaps a little high on price but that can be discussed with the seller:
