Who wants to do my o rings??

Did mine a few weeks back - the info on short cut is very good as are the excellent pictures on Landy Zone do a search on matrix "o" rings - would suggest it could take upto a day and make sure you replace the draw bolt with a stainless steel allen head bolt M5 x30mm (I seem to recall) - other thing to concern me was the disconnect of of the air bag wiring to instrument binacle (also good time to change bulbs when it is out) I did not remove battery (more luck than judgement) issue around loss of sync (again different opinions on some of the threads) by the book battery needs disconnecting. As also said with all bits out blend motors on driver side are easy to get to. Cutting the air duct pipework was hardest and most time consuming (a dremmel would be good here but take care)- I was luckly with the draw bolt which is a cross head - when replacing "o "ring may find another pair of hand in engine bay to hold the pipes could help when reassembling - good luck - do not leave it too long you will either drown the BeCM , corrode the wiring to the blend motor or the wiring to the diagnostic port. Last thing when bits are out replace the tempsensor to the heater - it only clips on part number STC 3256(suprised less than £20) & o rings part number STC 3262 (suggest you get a spare pair just in case you nic one -easly to do)

No need to cut any air duct, just disconnect, they're sturdy made & can take a lot.
I made the wholes in the console side but have seen on-line & believe a really long screw driver can do the job from top right of HEVAC unit.
Key is to get a helper to pull/hold/push the pipes in engine bay & the long screw-driver.
Most of my time was wasted on reading, worrying & dismantling unnecessary bits, also long time wasted on not being able to turn the screw (I thought) but it was already loose and fished out with magnet Duhh.
Bet it can be done in no time second time around if needed, screw-driver is by magic guided right to screw from top right of hevac so try that next time.
First photo show wholes i cut & used to get the screw-driver access, disconnected the duct in obvious place (lower left)
2nd photo show the screw seen through the double-whole i cut. (Side panel bended out-wards with force)

Hi Druim

The air duct was not going to come easy without a fight - cutting the unit out gives fair access and duck tape after worked wounders but agree with you 100% spent more time reseaching than doing the task
