gulp. . .. x trail flippy mind yer language on ear ,super exterminator will not be appy, popper dom welcome back, still recon lots er 1.8s with no problems, but know the hg problems make people twitchy and that is understandable, think with the td4 they got a good engine, but I'm slightly biased as diesels is my type er thing. . . .The Mad Hat Man said:nah! - chopped it in for an X-Trail
well yep to be fair flippy the inlet turbo bit was not a difficult job to do,and the good thing about a site like this is it can highlight issues and recommend the fix, like the maf problem, the engine decompression problem, that mondo kindly helped me with,i agree the service schedule has not included new problems but if your not intimidated by the new technology in modern motors, many problems can be sorted by diy. . . .The Mad Hat Man said:i assume your opinion is based on rebuilding the turbo inlet hoses etc eh Minge?
or do yu mean its a good engine in a poorly thought out vehicle with a c*** service schedule?
The Mad Hat Man said:ubso lutely. Pity the manufacturer dont take any notice - could be a brilliant beast if they took on board customers feedback.
I reckon between yu, Mondeo, Clutchdust, LR etc yu could create a "users guide to realistic Service intervals - the bits that LR left out!" It'd go down a treat

Lorraine - take note.
Mondo and PJ - yu have been warned!
The Mad Hat Man said:nah! - any help wud be apreciated - so far I cant find anyone who says "pile o' S***!"
