Who mentioned O Rings

Dammit!!! after just telling people how dry my floor was last week and then draining and flushing the cooling system and filling with nice new coolant i go out to a pink stained floor this morning.Im saying nothing from now on in case it hears me again.

New antifreeze is notorious for find leaks that were not there before. Tis the nature of the beast.

Tis so

Removing the radio and repairing all the busted plastics took longer than the actual O rings. Whoever fitted the mobile phone kit for the last owner was a fecking butcher. Luckily some of the bits from my spares dog were in good nick, other bits I re-built.

I saw you were in the process of doing yours Keith.
I've got mine stripped last night, to the point where i am just finishing my tea then back out to hopefully remove the final screw and fit O rings and re-assemble.Have not cut the heater duct yet but i think i might have to just to slip the O rings off and back on

Too busy with other peoples broken cars this morning and my poor RR is staring at me through the garage door looking pi

No way I could get to the O rings without cutting the duct, I cut it right at the top by the T junction. Duct tape does the job when re-assembling.
Finally glued all the plastics together, just got to hope that all the water leaks are fixed, O rings, pollen filter drains etc.

I knew my wee hands would come in handy one day.Ducting is still in one piece,as i just released it top and bottom and moved it toward the bulkhead to get to the screw at the matrix and then moved it as far to the rear of the car as it would go at the bottom,which let me in to the o-rings.
Back together now and just a few weeks time and the skin on my knuckles should have grown back nicely .

Innit nice to have the heater on without the smell of coolant

At least the screw came out easily for you. On mine it's stuck so I need to get a screw extractor. They are such poorly built cars!

I was scared mine would be the same after reading about some of the problems.I think someone mentioned a tool called grabit or similar,they used it when the stud would not move.

Ive got mine to do but not rushing into it as in might be in the breakers yard in a few weeks so will hang on a bit but i have bought and fitted a 13mm U hose and rerouted the coolant so it cant leak in anymore....

My rangie is also leaking rain water onto the top of the mat on the drivers side someone said it was the pollen filter how and what is the fix for that ????

Do a search, lots of info, just done mine I hope.
Rodentod, pull the plastic kick strip up, under it you will find a channel full of cables, in my case it was also full of congealed antifreeze a rusty screw and some bits of plastic that had chaffed the cables. Washed the channel out and dried with the aquavac taped up the cables and prevented another fault. The cable harness is sooo poorly protected.

Just did my o rings at the weekend.pig of a job. had to cut some of the plastic away to get a straight purchase on the well seized screw. Just finished it and water started dripping from the top of the drivers door pillar trim onto my knee! I've only had it 3 weeks and i've not stopped working on it!

Good call Keith,just cleaned mine out in the hope of finding a bad cable on the way to dash-temp gauge issue-but was remarkably clean and dry in there.Still have the rest of dash to put in but decided to do the message centre bulbs and have a good peer about before i finally button it all up.

Looks like the first set of O rings it's had thankfully,though whoever took the inst cluster out in the past must have done it with a pinch bar,butchers!!!!
