Haha there is that! I guess a big steel trailer and chipper kinda makes people use their brakes!! :D

Yeah the idea of a nice old v8 makes me salivate, I've actually got one at home awaiting some work and a vehicle to put it in, maybe it'll go back in the rangie if ever finish it!

I have fond memories of sitting in the passenger seat next to my old man in his 2 door v8 pulling out a Christmas steel lorry that had wedged itself in a drainage gully, amazing! That one incident is pretty much what got me hooked, and I was only 8 or 9!! :)

All marks of Discovery won the caravan magazine tow vehicle of the year award for about 30 years on the trot.

I never tow caravans, but I suspect the reason is that they are fantastic tow vehicles. And I imagine a Range Rover same.

260bhp tratter,
200tdi, +40 thou pistons, +10 thou main bearings, NGK racing glow plugs and a stainless steel exhaust tail pipe trim thing.
Oh, and demon tweeks sticker on me heater box.

I haven’t fitted my demon tweets sticker yet, but when I was at the supermarket cruise the other night doing burnouts someone said I should get it as it will add 50bhp and improve driveability. What do you think?

I already fitted a shiny exhaust tip, and my seat belt pads DEFINITELY made the accelerator more responsive

Hi All,
According to the handbook my RR has a supercharged version of the Jaguar 4.2-litre V8 developing 400 hp. Impressive number perhaps but all I know is from a standing start you hit 60 mph very quickly indeed. Well done Land Rover for actually getting it into the car and making it stay there when you kick down the fast pedal because you certainly know there is something very growly under the hood. For the record, don't even think about mpg, it's pointless. Just enjoy the ride.
Tricky.

I know that engine but I've still got mine in the XKR, worth the MPG for the smiles although I still reckon I get mid 20's, 30 on a run :)

Hi Jim, smiles everyday and your right on the motorway at 70mph I've seen a decent 25+ mpg. The good thing about that engine is you can add whatever extras and load you like it'll still pull like a train without having to share your space with a few hundred strangers. Having said that my son loves to travel by train. It's down to personal choice I guess.
Tricky.
